Since my [initial review of Neon District](https://peakd.com/hive-140217/@kaliyuga/let-s-talk-nft-based-gaming-neon-district) last week got a lot of positive feedback, I thought I would continue sharing brief game updates with the Hive community as new information and features roll out. If you're new to the game, I definitely recommend reading that article first so you know what the heck I'm talking about in this one!

**Retrospective on Alpha Launch Week**
2,200 players (!!!!) took part in the first week of the Neon Pizza open alpha. Everyone who played launch week will be receiving the *Hot Out of the Oven* badge on February 2nd, when the badges officially launch.

Also, I finished 8th on the leaderboard (getting rekt all the while) if anyone was curious!

**This Week (January 27-February 2)**
This week, there are two secret missions for players to complete. Completing each mission rewards the player with a special rare NFT set--one set for completing the delivery mission, and one for completing the ambush mission. 
Quoting directly from the [Blockade Games Medium article's announcement](https://medium.com/blockadegames/neon-district-update-jan-26-2908b4b17ee1), the missions are as follows:

***Special Mission 1***
*Codename:* Burning the Midnight Oil
*Objective:* Complete 5 delivery shifts (In either Tier 1 or 2)
*Reward:* Rare Delivery Gear

***Special Mission 2***
*Codename:* Street Scum Rising
*Objective:* Attempt 5 Ambushes (Win or Lose)
Reward: Rare Ambusher Gear

These missions are a great opportunity to earn unique gear for your team without spending your hard-earned NEON. I'm particularly fond of the Delivery gear, myself!


A new feature of Neon Pizza was rolled out this evening (January 27): the ability to open hits on players who have ambushed you in order to steal back their unbanked earnings. The hits currently cost you no NEON to open, and if you're successful, you and the hitman who accepts the hit each get half of the NEON you steal. 
This feature balances the disparity in NEON earning rates between Delivery teams and Ambushers by allowing Delivery drivers to recoup their losses with the help of a stronger team. As someone who was losing a substantial amount of NEON every time I got ambushed, I'm a fan of the feature, but since it's only been live a couple of hours, everyone is still kind of getting used to it!
