We were all thrilled to see facial recognition in Apple's iphone. However, facial recognition tech has massive implications as far as public security is concerned. Its not only limited to being a fancy feature on an expensive phone. 

Also, what if I told you that it's not any of the tech giants leading the way in this tech. A company called Gemalto, one you may not have heard of, is leading the way through its Cogent Live Face Identification System. 

As per data published by US Homeland Security Science & Technology Ditectorate, comparing 12 facial recognition systems,  Gemalto's solution was the best with face acquisition rate of 99.44%, identification rate of 98% and error rate of 1%, in under 5 seconds. The average was 68%, 66% and 32% in respective categories.

The solution and advanced algo is accurate, easily scalable and can be layered over pre-existing image and video solutions.
