Came across this new community designed and created by gamers, for gamers. It's called Ember, still in alpha stage, and I wanted to introduce it in a blog post and also review it.

Ember is a pretty wide community. You don't have to be a pro gamer to join. In fact, there are communities for developers, artists, mobile gamer(pro and part time) and just about anyone remotely interested in games. I like that a lot about Ember, i.e. the audience can be quite wide despite being limited to the niche area of gaming. 

Let's take a look at the key aspects about the website.

It's in alpha stage right now, so one needs an access key. I was able to join thanks to an access key provided by reviewhunt. After signing up, I finished my profile and began to explore the forum.

On the bottom of the page, there is the community section. That can be used to explore communities, people, games, video content and live streams. I would have preferred this section to be on the top, however after identifying the people and communities, I think the use for this section becomes less frequent. So may be it's better positioned at the bottom. 

The other sections on the page mostly about one's own profile. One can easily access the communities and games from the section below the profile. There are email notifications based on updates. 

The game section will show you all the relevant info about a game. For example - Pokemon go

I think this does look like a cool platform. The website design is quite awesome. Once you join a community, you can also join its discord channel. The team has stated that the forum will change over time and one can make suggestions to improve things on discord. If you're someone interested in gaming, be sure to check it out. I'm yet to fully explore the forum but my intial feedback is that is promising and something I do want to explore.
