South Highh review - a grat place of South Indian delicacies

I went again to Kamala mills compound today for lunch. Went again with my friend who works nearby and today we decided to try out a South Indian restaurant called South Highh. 

The restaurant is located in Kamala Mills compound, home to possibly 50 plus restaurants and even office buildings. We went at 1 PM and the restaurant was really empty. We did not have to wait to be seated.

The decor inside is quite nice. The colours give the aura of an old royal kitchen and the dark green touches add a nice feel. There was also a large screen on which they were showing Cricket. That was a positive in my opinion. Lunch and a game of Cricket is an unbeatable combination.

There  was a lot of new stuff for me on the menu. We ordered Mangaluru idli for starters, to try something new, Vegetable Kuttu Parotha, and Chicken Malabar Curry and Parotha. For drinks we got diet coke and Sol Kadi.

I think this is a local Maharashtrian drink and is made from yoghurt. I didn't have it but I was told it was good. 

Starters - Mangalutu Idli

Idli is usually made of rice flour and is had with lentil soup. This was different as it was pan fried in this green curry paste. That added a spice but even though it was a good dish, I think I will not order it again. I personally feel the paste doesn't add too much to an otherwise already perfect dish. 

Kottu Porotha -

I love kottu porotha, it is made by dicing an oily, thick, white flour flat bread and shallow frying it with egg and meat and curry. It is full of flavours and works as a great breakfast. I tried this kottu porotha and this was milder. It was well made and something worth trying if you visit South Highh. I however would go with a meat option.

Chicken curry was BEAUTIFUL! The mildly tangy curry made with coconut milk was light and thin. Chicken was boneless, easy to eat and 2 porothas were enough to have a satisfying lunch. 

Portions were plenty. The service staff was friendly and helpful with recommendations. 

The place was clean, spick and span and quiet to have a good conversation. 

The bill came to INR 1200, which in absolute terms makes it a little expensive for lunch but the food and ambience are worth the price. 

I'll give the restaurant and dishes I had 4.5 on a scale of 1 to 5, 5 being best. The idli gets 4
