 <br/> Yesterday, I got the opportunity to eat at August Cafe in Andheri West area of Mumbai. This place gave me a feeling that the owner knew what he was upto. The mix of flavours and spices in each dish I tried, was decided by someone who had tried the flavours in the countries to which those dishes belong. Anyway, before I talk about the food, let's talk the place. August Cafe is located in a quiet residential area of Andheri West, also home to a number of other such unique cafes. It's on the ground floor of a residential building.  The outside layout and appearance of the restaurant reminded me of a cafe in Paris. The entrance was covered with thick transparent plastic curtains.  The black and white tiles, the thick curtains and the maroon edges around the roof, all played a role in me drawing a similarity to a cafe in Paris. We sat outside and had to wit 5 minutes for a table. The place was busy due to Christmas. I felt a few people had come on date lunch.   Everything was neat and clean. i went to use the unisex washroom later and even the basement was clean.  The menu was fairly detailed so I will just highlight the main sections.  We ordered Arrabbiatta Spaghetti, Jerk Chicken Burger ans Savoury Waffle with mushrooms, spinach and eggs. The dishes came one by one. Pasta was properly cooked and the tomato sauce had a very thick consistency. The focus was on the tomatoes and the tanginess that comes from it and italian herbs added a nice flavour.  The savoury waffles had a healthy portion of spinach and mushrooms on it. the two eggs on top made the whole doih look so tempting. I would have preferred a sweetish waffle. Just to get a sweet and savoury mix of flavours. This was good too. My burger and Spaghetti competed for the best dish. The burger bun was so so soft, absolutely perfect. It seemed more like a Brioche Bun, something I believe makes burgers taste 10 times better. The chicken breast imside was grilled and was beautifully covered in Jerk spice. There was supposed to be a pineapple inside but I asked it on the side. One also had the option to add cheese. I went for no cheese option. Fries had to be ordered separately. Hand cut, thick potato chunks with skin were beautiful and crisp.   The food was absolutely brilliant and the bill was INR 1400. That's less than 500 per person and includes taxes and service. That makes August Cafe one of the best bang per buck places I have been to. Additionally, if you have membership with zomato, you can a dish free. That option wasn't available to us as we went on a public holiday. I'll rate this place 5 on a scale of 1 to 5, 5 being best.
