Concurso de la Comunidad Ladies of Hive #19

¡Buenas tardes Comunidad!

Esta semana voy a participar con la pregunta

Muéstranos tres iconos de tu país.

A continuación comienzo:

**ICONO 1**- **El cacao venezolano**

El cacao venezolano es de fama mundial. Una de las zonas productoras es el estado Aragua. Allí puedes dirigirte a visitar una de las zonas cacaoteras. Para ello debes tomar un bus, en el terminal de la ciudad de Maracay. Este te llevará por una carretera, estrecha y con muchas curvas, al famoso pueblo turístico de Choroní. A lo largo de la carretera puedes encontrar pequeñas y medianas siembras de cacao. Al llegar a Choroní te sugiero que disfrutes de su río tranquilo. Es mejor en los meses que llaman secos, de noviembre hasta abril, porque el río puede crecer y en ese caso estaría muy sucio.

Posteriormente puedes tomar una lancha en el embarcadero; la cual te llevará a Chuao. Allí encontrarás la famosa iglesia y sus famosas plantas de cacao. Puedes disfrutar del sabroso chocolate que preparan y también comprar cacao puro en pasta para llevártelo y disfrutar con la familia.

El cacao se cultiva dos veces al año. Todo el proceso es manual. Se abren las "mazorcas" de cacao, se le sacan los granos.

Aquí se observa la cosecha del cacao.

Estos granos, ya cosechados, van a lugares donde fermentan aproximadamente por 5 días y después pasan al patio de secado. Allí luego que está completamente seco se procede a colocarlo en sacos para su venta. A partir de allí comenzará su proceso industrial para la elaboración del exquisito manjar.

Aquí se observa la iglesia de Chuao y en la parte delantera está el cacao secándose al sol.

**ICONO 2** **-Las playas**

Una de mis playas favoritas es Cata. Quizás porque siempre, en la época de estudiantes, todos los fines de semana íbamos a esa playa.
Se encuentra también en el estado Aragua, en la zona norte. Puedes ir por carretera. Aproximadamente te tardarías como una hora en carro. La carretera es estrecha. Pasas por el Parque Nacional Henry Pittier, es el parque nacional más antiguo de Venezuela.
El mismo posee una gran diversidad de plantas como las orquídeas,los chaparros, las bromelias y el árbol llamado "niño" que es un indicador de la formación vegetal "bosque nublado". También presenta muchas especies de aves. Aquí se encuentra el Museo "Estación Biológica de Rancho Grande". En el se encuentran animales disecados de la zona. No se si actualmente está abierto al público.

Seguimos por la carretera y por fin llegamos a la playa de Cata. Es una bahía de aguas cristalinas y cocoteros.Aquí la foto donde se ve la playa en toda su extensión. ¡¡¡Disfrútala!!!!

Desde Cata se puede ir caminando o en lancha hacia otra playa que queda relativamente cerca denominada Catica.

**ICONO 3-** **-La gastronomía**

Entre mis platos preferidos están la hallaca. Este plato típico se consume en diciembre para la época de Navidad. Aunque siempre que podamos desde que comienza diciembre estamos comiendo hallacas.

Su creación se le atribuye a los esclavos y sirvientes indígenas, quienes supuestamente recogían los restos de las preparaciones de sus amos para armar un plato que les sirviese de alimento extra a sus comidas habituales. Fue así como la harina de maíz se mezcló con ingredientes del llamado viejo continente, como las pasas, las alcaparras y las aceitunas, para al final envolverse en una hoja de plátano, y darle así ese toque tan característico y criollo.

En resumen nuestra hallaca consiste esencialmente de una masa de maíz pigmentada con onoto y saborizada con caldo de pollo, que se rellena generalmente con un guiso de carne de res y cerdo, aunque dependiendo de la región, actualmente, puede ser también de pollo, mariscos y hasta pescado.

Esta masa se rellena con la carne y se añaden otros sabores adicionales, como: uvas pasas, aceitunas, alcaparras, pimentón y cebolla. Y en algunas zonas como en Los Andes les suelen añadir garbanzos.

Esta preparación se envuelve en una hoja de plátano. Finalmente, se amarra con hilo pabilo y se lleva al fuego en abundante agua con sal.

Se preparan siempre con todo el grupo familiar.

Hermosos iconos el cacao da lugar al chocolate venezolano con mucha fama uno de los mejores del mundo. La hallaca venezolana un plato típico familiar venezolano, @katleya maravilloso aporte. Bendiciones.

<em>ICON 1- Venezuelan cocoa

Venezuelan cocoa is world famous. One of the producing areas is the state of Aragua. There you can go to visit one of the cocoa areas. To do this you must take a bus, in the terminal of the city of Maracay. This will take you along a narrow and curvy road to the famous tourist town of Choroní. Along the road you can find small and medium cacao plantations. When you arrive in Choroní, I suggest you enjoy its calm river. It is better in the so-called dry months, from November to April, because the river can rise and in that case it would be very dirty.

Later you can take a boat at the pier; which will take you to Chuao. There you will find the famous church and its famous cacao plants. You can enjoy the tasty chocolate they prepare and also buy pure cocoa paste to take with you and enjoy with the family.

Cocoa is grown twice a year. The whole process is manual. The cocoa "pods" are opened, the beans are removed.

These grains, already harvested, go to places where they ferment for approximately 5 days and then go to the drying yard. There, after it is completely dry, it is placed in bags for sale. From there, the industrial process for the elaboration of the exquisite delicacy will begin.

ICON 2 -The beaches

One of my favorite beaches is Cata. Maybe because always, in student days, every weekend we went to that beach.
It is also found in the state of Aragua, in the north. You can go by road. It would take you about an hour by car. The road is narrow. You pass through the Henry Pittier National Park, it is the oldest national park in Venezuela.
It has a great diversity of plants such as orchids, chaparros, bromeliads and the tree called "child" which is an indicator of the "cloud forest" plant formation. It also features many species of birds. Here is the Museum "Rancho Grande Biological Station". In it are stuffed animals from the area. I don't know if it's currently open to the public.
We continue along the road and finally we reach the beach of Cata. It is a bay with crystal clear waters and coconut trees. Here is the photo where you can see the beach in its entirety. Enjoy it !!!!

From Cata you can walk or by boat to another beach that is relatively close called Catica.

ICON 3- -Gastronomy

Among my favorite dishes are the saca. This typical dish is consumed in December for the Christmas season. Although whenever we can since the beginning of December we are eating Hallas.

Its creation is attributed to indigenous slaves and servants, who supposedly collected the remains of their masters' preparations to put together a plate that would serve as extra food for their usual meals. This is how the corn flour was mixed with ingredients from the so-called old continent, such as raisins, capers and olives, to finally wrap it in a banana leaf, thus giving it that characteristic and Creole touch.

In summary, our Hallaca consists essentially of a corn dough pigmented with onoto and flavored with chicken broth, which is generally filled with a stew of beef and pork, although depending on the region, currently, it can also be chicken, seafood and even fish.

This dough is filled with the meat and other additional flavors are added, such as: raisins, olives, capers, paprika and onion. And in some areas, such as Los Andes, they usually add chickpeas.

This preparation is wrapped in a banana leaf. Finally, it is tied with wick thread and brought to the fire in plenty of salted water.

They are always prepared with the whole family group.
