It's amazing how artists embrace the latest technology in the most beautiful ways!

I've already posted about an Art app designed to save your life [here](https://steemit.com/art/@katyakov/look-up-an-art-app-that-can-save-your-life) and the Swiss startup that has created a Tinder for art lovers [here](https://steemit.com/art/@katyakov/tinder-for-art).

And now I wanna share the great idea of an American artist Ivan Toth Depeña, that was created this year in Miami.

It's an augmented reality app called [Lapse](http://www.lapsemiami.com).

"Lapse is an experiential, augmented reality installation ... that takes you on a journey throughout Miami. Using your mobile device and its camera, you will uncover hidden, virtual art experiences."

The idea is that you can reveal hidden artworks in the public places, pretty much the same way as most of you are revealing Pokemons now:)

The artist is thrilled with the idea that technology has become s accessible to everyone, that there are million ways to involve the audience into the art world!

“We’re reaching the point where technological advances are catching up with our imaginations,” says Depeña. “So it’s not necessarily so much science fiction anymore, it’s more like science fact.”

I am really a big fan of contemporary artists working hand in hand with technology.

“Even when I’m working on paintings and drawings, I’ll incorporate technology, or computers, or something else that draws on top of what I’m doing.” - Depeña says.

To me the coolest thing about this app is that it includes very different artworks, starting from murals on the buildings and up to the audio and visual content.

It comes from the collaboration of different artists, not only Depeña, so we are able to uncover various styles and art movements with this tool.

Well, we have to be in Miami though:)

Again, this is probably not a billion-deal app, but more likely a cool tool for art lovers. But I do believe that the technology of augmented reality should go way beyond catching little yellow animals in public places...

And this one is already a great thing!
