Hoy les traigo mi reseña del que sea, probablemente el libro más fantástico que haya leído. Al terminar de leerlo supe de inmediato que estaría entre mi top de libros favoritos de siempre. Y mi vida no podría continuar normalmente si no les hablo de él.

Estaré dejando a lo largo del post algunas de las frases más hermosas del libro.

Tan solo la sinopsis de este libro logra que se me erice la piel. Los elementos a simple vista son fantásticos: un trato con el diablo una trampa, una vida de lucha y dolor siendo olvidada y finalmente alguien que la recuerda.

Fue en el año 2021 cuando descubrí este libro y mucho tiempo tuve que esperar para poder leerlo, pero déjenme decirles que valió cada segundo la espera. Cuando comencé a leerlo no podía sino sumergirme en esas páginas como si el tiempo se desvaneciera a mi alrededor y no existía nada más que mi deseo por descubrir más y más sobre la vida de Addie.

Toda yo quedé maravillada con cada aspecto de esta lectura, de las situaciones creadas por la autora, de estos personajes y sobretodo el desenlace. 

Lloré un rio de lágrimas. Inexplicable.

Just the synopsis of this book makes my skin crawl. The elements at first glance are fantastic: a deal with the devil, a trap, a life of struggle and pain being forgotten, and finally someone who remembers her.

It was in the year 2021 when I discovered this book and a long time I had to wait to be able to read it, but let me tell you it was worth every second of the wait. When I started reading it I could not but immerse myself in those pages as if time was fading around me and there was nothing but my desire to discover more and more about Addie's life.

All of me was amazed at every aspect of this reading, the situations created by the author, these characters, and above all the outcome. 

I cried a river of tears. Inexplicable.

Sin duda alguna la narración de V.E Schwab lleva la historia a niveles muy altos de comprensión y disfrute. El poder de sus palabras logró trasladarme desde la oscuridad de mi habitación hasta Villon, el pueblo de la infancia de Addie, y a los distintos lugares en los que ella trata de hacer una vida durante sus 300 años de existencia. Amé profundamente la manera en la que eran descritos todos esos bellos paisajes, los colores, los aromas, las sensaciones que nuestra protagonista nos trasmitía y, sobre todo, el anhelo constante de ella por ser amada y recordada, por ser parte del mundo.

La historia está narrada en tiempo pasado y presente, mostrándonos simultáneamente como ha sido su vida desde el siglo XVII y cómo es ahora en el presente. Muy bien logrado de parte de la autora, considerando que este tipo de narrativas suelen ser complicadas de comprender e incluso aburridas. No es el caso de Addie donde cada vez que viajamos a su pasado, solo quedamos con muchas más ganas de saber qué otras cosas increíbles acontecieron en la vida de una persona que ha vivido por tanto tiempo.

La manera como el arte forma parte fundamental de esta historia es asombrosa y nos muestra cómo Addie, una chica que no puede ser recordada por nadie logra convertirse en la musa de las piezas de arte más famosas y emblemáticas de los museos alrededor del mundo, que permanecen en la historia de la humanidad.

Without a doubt, V.E Schwab's narration takes the story to very high levels of comprehension and enjoyment. The power of her words managed to transport me from the darkness of my room to Villon, Addie's childhood village, and to the different places where she tries to make life during her 300 years of existence. I deeply loved how all those beautiful landscapes were described, the colors, the scents, the sensations that our protagonist transmitted to us, and, above all, her constant longing to be loved and remembered, to be part of the world.

The story is narrated in the past and presents tense, showing us simultaneously how her life has been since the 17th century and how it is now in the present. Very well done by the author, considering that this kinds of narratives are usually complicated to understand and even boring. This is not the case with Addie, where every time we travel to her past, we are left with the desire to know what other incredible things happened in the life of a person who has lived for so long.

How art forms a fundamental part of this story is amazing and shows us how Addie, a girl who cannot be remembered by anyone, manages to become the muse of the most famous and emblematic pieces of art in museums around the world, which remain in the history of mankind.

Es excepcionalmente fuerte, valiente, resiliente, decidida, sin miedo. Este personaje logra atravesar toda una vida llena de desgracias, rechazos, olvidos, indiferencia, maltratos, dolor y logra aun así ver la maravilla en cada una de las etapas de su vida. Logra ver el color a través del negro.

Inevitable llorar con ella en sus momentos más duros, inevitable no compadecerse de los sueños juveniles que la empujaron desesperadamente a hacer el pacto con el diablo. Un personaje maravilloso con el cual empaticé sin darme cuenta.

La relación entre todos los personajes de la historia es exquisita. Los amores de la vida de Addie, la familia que ella dejó atrás y por la que volvió varias a veces a Villon, la evolución a través de los siglos de su relación con Luc y finalmente la llegada de Henry a su vida.

She is exceptionally strong, courageous, resilient, determined, fearless. This character manages to go through a lifetime of misfortune, rejection, forgetfulness, indifference, mistreatment, pain and still manages to see the wonder in every stage of her life. She manages to see color through black.

Inevitable to cry with her in her hardest moments, inevitable not to sympathize with the youthful dreams that pushed her desperately to make a pact with the devil. A wonderful character with whom I empathized without realizing it.

The relationship between all the characters in the story is exquisite. The loves of Addie's life, the family she left behind and returned several times to Villon for, the evolution through the centuries of her relationship with Luc, and finally the arrival of Henry into her life.

Hacía demasiado tiempo que un libro no tocaba mi corazón de la manera que éste lo hizo. Me sentí maravillada y conmovida a la vez. Sonreí y lloré a partes iguales y amé cada personaje y cada enseñanza que me dio esta historia. ¿Cuándo sabes que un libro es demasiado maravilloso? Cuando te da algo qué aprender y atesorar por siempre. La mejor lectura de mi 2021 sin duda alguna. Un libro maravilloso del que no puedo acordarme sin que sonría y sienta al mismo tiempo ganas de llorar. Una obra maestra inolvidable que irónicamente se trata de una chica que nadie puede recordar.

Si estás buscando una historia que te atrape y un personaje que nunca puedas olvidar, éste libro te encantará.

¡INOLVIDABLE!

It had been too long since a book had touched my heart the way this one did. I was in awe and moved at the same time. I smiled and cried in equal parts and loved every character and every lesson this story gave me. When do you know a book is too wonderful? When it gives you something to learn and treasure forever. The best read of my 2021 without a doubt. A wonderful book that I can't remember without smiling and feeling like crying at the same time. An unforgettable masterpiece that ironically is about a girl that no one can remember.

If you are looking for a story that grabs you and a character you can never forget, you will love this book.
