Didactic Resource "Counting Petals" Eng/Spa

# Didactic Resource "Counting Petals".

Hello friends of this creative and colorful community.

After some time away, I am here to show you a Didactic Resource that I created for Amanda's school year closing. The resource was selected and recommended by her teachers and for that purpose, they sent samples of what we had to elaborate.

Being designated as a group, I took on the commitment of making the patterns and some flowers using cardboard and foami, however, in addition to this, I made the didactic resource on cardboard to practice at home with Amanda and here I tell you how I did it.

**Materials:**

White cardboard.
White sheets or recycled cardboard.
Colored pencils.
Scissors.
Eraser.
Graphite pencil.

**Procedure:**

**Step 1:**
Using white sheet, I traced the circle of the flower.
The guide for the process of making the pattern is the circle, the size of the petals will depend on it. 
I traced it using a circular toy of about 2 cm in diameter.

**Step 2.**
I traced a petal and made the calculation to make sure it would be the ideal size to make a 10 petal flower.

**Step 3.**
With this first pattern I drew the rest of the flowers and cut them out, obtaining the pattern of all the flowers.

**Step 4.**
For the height, stem and flower measurements, I used a wooden palette.

**Step 5.**
For the matero, I traced the measurements as follows:
Top 6 cm
Bottom centered at 3 cm and height 4.5 cm.

**Step 6.**
Using the patterns, draw 10 materos and 10 flowers on white cardboard.

**Step 7.**
I started by coloring the center of the petals yellow, then the stems green, then the petals in bright colors and finally the materos.

**Step 8.**
The final touch, before cutting, is to rub gently with a cotton cloth to brighten the color and get a nicer job. After this is done, we can cut.

With this resource, I noticed that Amanda not only learned the numbers from 1 to 10, but also improved her concentration, since at first she missed some petals and then managed to keep an order to count them.

It also helps with fine motor skills, since she picks up the petals using tweezers or by sliding her index finger along the petals, and it also allows her to continue developing her hand-eye coordination. 

Another thing I noticed is that when she practiced it repeatedly, she identified them by size and color, which means that it also allows her to develop her memory.

I really liked this resource. If you have school-age children, I recommend it for them to learn to count, it is easy and very useful.

Besides, it would be an excellent initiative to work with the children during the vacations, so they can continue with the habit of learning while playing and coloring.

# Recurso Didáctico "Contando Pétalos"

Hola amigos de esta creativa y colorida comunidad.

Después de un tiempo ausente, me acerco para mostrar un Recurso Didáctico que elaboré a propósito del cierre de año escolar de Amanda. El recurso fue seleccionado y recomendado por sus maestras y para tal fin, enviaron muestras de lo que debíamos elaborar.

Al ser designado en grupo, asumí el compromiso de elaborar los patrones y algunas flores usando cartulina y foami, sin embargo, adicional a esto, elaboré el recurso didáctico en cartulina para practicar en casa con Amanda y aquí les cuento cómo lo hice.

**Materiales:**

Cartulina blanca.
Hojas blancas o cartulinas de reciclaje.
Colores.
Tijeras.
Borrador.
Lápiz de grafito.

**Procedimiento:**


**Paso 1:**
Usando hoja blanca, tracé el círculo de la flor.
La guía para el proceso de elaboración del patrón es el círculo, de allí dependerá el tamaño de los pétalos. 
El mismo,  lo tracé usando un juguete circular de unos 2 cm de diámetro.

**Paso 2.** 
Tracé un pétalo y realicé el cálculo para asegurarme de que sería el tamaño ideal para hacer una flor de 10 pétalos.

**Paso 3.**
Con este primer patrón dibujé el resto de las flores y las recorté, obteniendo el patrón de todas las flores.

**Paso 4.**
Para las medidas de altura, tallo y flor, utilicé una paleta de madera.

**Paso 5.**
Para el matero, tracé las medidas de la siguiente forma:
Parte superior 6 cm.
Inferior centrada en 3 cm y de altura 4,5 cm.

**Paso 6.**
Usando los patrones, dibuje 10 materos y 10 flores en cartulina blanca.

**Paso 7.**
Inicié coloreando el centro de los pétalos de color amarillo, luego los tallos de color verde, posteriormente los pétalos de colores llamativos y finalmente los materos.

**Paso 8.**
El toque final, antes de cortar, es frotar suavemente con una tela de algodón para dar brillo al color y obtener un trabajo más bonito. Luego de hacer esto, podemos cortar.

Con este recurso, noté que Amanda no solo aprendió los números del 1 al 10, sino que también mejoró su concentración, ya que al principio obviaba algunos pétalos y luego logró llevar un orden para contarlos.

También, ayuda con la motricidad fina, ya que toma los pétalos usando pinzas o deslizando su dedo índice por el mismo, además le permite seguir desarrollando la coordinación ojo-mano. 

Otra cosa que noté, es que al practicarlo repetidas veces, las identificaba por tamaño y color, lo que significa que también le permite desarrollar la memoria.




La verdad me pareció muy acertado este recurso. Si tienes niños en edad escolar, te lo recomiendo para que aprendan a contar, es fácil y de mucha utilidad.

Además, sería una excelente iniciativa para ser trabajado con los niños a propósito  de las vacaciones, así continúan con el hábito del aprendizaje a la vez que juegan y colorean.
