Overview: You can use Memeit.LOL to create original memes and post them to the Steem Blockchain.

- What is the project about?

Memeit.LOL is a website where people can create original memes easily and be rewarded. This website is unique because you can't upload images and quote on quote plagiarize. This site was made to take one step away from cluttering the web with unoriginal content.  Another great thing is it's open source. We want you to see our code and actually help and verify our website. A final, but not last great feature is a soon to be moderation system to upvote great memes. Memeit.LOL also uses the [Steem](https://steem.io/) network to reward original memes.

- Technology Stack

This site uses [Node.js](https://nodejs.org/en/), [Express.js](http://expressjs.com/), [Pugjs](https://pugjs.org/api/getting-started.html), and [Steem.js](https://github.com/steemit/steem-js) among other things such as nginx reverse proxy, [node-json-db](https://www.npmjs.com/package/node-json-db), [jimp](https://github.com/oliver-moran/jimp), etc.

- Roadmap

Our website is live at [https://memeit.lol](https://memeit.lol). But you have to login using steemconnect to see anything, which may change in the future. We are looking at building a moderation system similar to Utopians where "meme inspectors" can judge which posts can get voted by @memeit.lol. The rules would be based on originality and funniness. We also want to add better styling and make it easier to do tasks. We also plan on asking for delegations to fund the upvotes to original authors. Delegators will get 4% of rewards generated, per delegator that is picked, from upvotes. Delegator rewards will be random, but the more delegated the more you will be picked.

- How to contribute?

This is the awesome part of open source, anyone can look at our code and help us! We won't be able to pay but you can earn Utopian rewards. Our github repo is [here](https://github.com/memeit-lol/memeit.lol). Basically you can create issues for bugs or features you find and want respectively. You can also change some of our code and add pull requests which me @kennybll or @gktown will accept. You can also add pull requests to add a photo you want to add to our memes folder on the repo.

- Changed have been made, we had used steemit.lol as our branding but as per Steemit's TOS we will not use that name but memeit.lol.
