I think the latest addition to the ruleset, Shades Of Gray, is quite an intresting ruleset. We always consider Neutral Splinter as supplemental to the battle, partially its considered inferior in parameter for the equal mana compared to other Splinter. And with the release of dual splinter summoner, there's even lower chances that Neutral Splinter might be picked for deployment. But this ruleset just upend those tendency. Somehow it might be better to invest in handful of powerful and reliable Neutral card, which would save the cost needed to invest on card for particular Splinter.

Here in this battle we have Shades Of Gray, Reverse Speed, and Fire & Regret as the rulesets. While all Splinters are available except for the Life Splinter and Dragon Splinter.

The great thing under Shades Of Gray is, you could choose any summoners across all Splinters. So in this battle I picked Grandmaster Rathe to strengthen my defense against magic attack. With this I already got protection from Void Armor and Return & Fire. Next I decided to deploy my favorite `Tanker - Striker` card, Mantaroth. Then I followed up with Junker with its Reach ability. Sand Worm followed up next to strike from the rear row. The next 3 rows is more of wild cards choice of magic and melee card. There are Scavo Technomance, Mad Ogre Anarchist, and Moxian Rebel.

Accross the side, my opponent seemed to use a more uncoordinated formation with underutilized mana cap. The frontline are led by Arkemis The Bear which had solid 3 melee damage, and most importantly Protect. Next there is Ulundiin Overseer which is a bulky non-attack `Tanker`. This seemed a wrong position to me, since Ulundin had Flank and therefor its better to stay in the front-row; excep of course if my opponent's strategy is to sacrifice Arkemis and then allow Goblin Mech to strike once they all move up. Goblin Mech is very destructive with 4 melee damage and Piercing, and with 5 armor and 6 health its hard to bring down this contraption. They also brought Sand Worm and last but not least is Chaos Agent. Its very unfortunate that with Lob Lowland as the summoner, they should have chances to use Gladiator, but instead go with none. Peculiarly, the speed debuff just give my formation better initiatives with Reverse Speed ruleset.

The battle opened with both Sand Worm inflicting damage to the rear card. But that all coming from my opponent. After that, Mad Ogre Anarchist finish the job and send Chaos Agent into demise. The rest of the card including Moxian Rebel and Scavo Technomancer, deliver fatal blow into Arkemis The Bear which result in 1 health left. Right at the end of the round, Arkemis got chances to inflicng 2 damage to Mantaroth.

Arkemis continue to break down Mantaroth armor but faced. Junker put an end to Arkemis, and fortunately with Arkemis no more, the Protect are lost for good. Then in succession my Sand Worm gained intial move to strike and kill my opponent Sand Worm. With this Ulundin Overseer step up to take the first row. But its a misfortune that Flank only work if the owner on the first row at the start of the round, which means it will be useless this round. My team able to chip away some of Ulundin and Goblin Mech, allowing a better position in the upcoming round.

There's actually almost zero chances for a 1 card to fight against 6 card at once. And even more so, Goblin Mech is the last in the act order. When the battle started, my whole formation has rake down the whole armor and health of my opponent. Goblin Mech with 2 health remaining deliver its final last blow just to break down Mantaroth armor. And the next round is history.

### CONCLUSION

I'm confident that under this ruleset, the one with most extensive Neutral Splinter will most likely come out victorious. There's already few number of Neutral Splinter compared to regular Splinter; therefor with no addition from other Splinter its very difficult to have the optimum formation.
