Hoy les hablo desde la experiencia con Tiger Antonio, que nos a hecho buscar tips de como convivir con un gato. Por ejemplo "Sus rasguños en los muebles"

Desde que llegó  Tiger, mi padre le creo un hábito. Hábito que para ellos es genial, porque dejan impregnado su aroma en los lugares con la almohadilla de sus patitas y sus uñas. "Todos todos los gatos necesitan arañar y rascar" es instinto natural y si les acentuas este hábito, aún más lo harán.  Lo hacen por limar sus uñas, por jugar, por estrés, por impregnar su olor( marcaje, desprenden feromonas), por todo y por nada. 



Since Tiger arrived, my father created a habit for him. A habit that is great for them, because they leave their aroma impregnated in the places with the pad of their paws and their nails. Resulta que al pasar el tiempo, a medida que fué creciendo se fué haciendo más fuerte y ya no era juego si no que ya se veían los daños en el mueble " su favorito" buscamos maneras de hacer que esto no pasará pero se debe tener paciencia:


1) lava tus muebles ó el sitio en dónde frecuentan rasgar: esto ayudará a que olvide su aroma, que ya estaba impregnado. Lavamos con jabón neutro, sino seguirán con la misma rutina. 
)


2) cubre tus muebles con otro tipo de tela que sea muy distinta a la de los muebles: ayuda a camuflajear la textura que le gusta

3) busca rascadores, cómpralos ó hazlos tu mismo: deben ser muy parecidos a la tela del mueble, generalmente se usan con mecatillos

4) los rascadores debes ponerlos en sitios estratégicos: una vez que los tengas en los sitios, empieza a enseñarle que ahí es donde debe rasgar, ellos entenderán, pero poco a poco. Generalmente se usan varios hasta que ellos identifiquen cuál les gusta más. 

Anecdota: nosotros lo hicimos con la lona del carro y se lo dejamos únicamente para el. Hoy por hoy está destrozada, pero ya es de él, de hecho duerme ahí por horas.

5) No los regañes: quizás lo puedes hacer pero de manera sutil justo cuando estén rascando el mueble que tanto amas, sino no lo entenderán y lo que lograrás es que pierdan la confianza.
