#### Welcome to part 3
In Part 3 i will, as promised, touch on "what a Blockchain is?" and "how cryptocurrencies are based on blockchain technology". Enjoy!
## What is a Blockchain?
Let's start with an example. If you do most of your shopping online paying with your bankaccount through various online payment methods, at some point you go to your onlinebanking and check your History (Transactionhistory) or go directly to your bank and print your bank account statement so you can see where your money went in case you forgot or aren't sure.
A Blockchain is a complete and unchangable Transactionhistory about all transactions of a decentralized community. Everyone who is Part of it auomatically agrees to it. Everyone who is Part of a blockchain, saves the transactionhistory on his computer and can ensure that noone is double spending. This transactionhistory is periodically being updated.

#### What does double spending even mean?
Imagine you taking a selfie on your phone. After you've taken the photo you want to upload it on let's say Facebook. So by uploading your photo to facebook, your doing an identical copy of the original photo for free. You can then upload it everywhere you want (Instagram, Twitter, Lovoo etc.) and all of this is for free and because noone is taking damage or getting hurt by you merely uploading your selfie, noone cares about it.
But now imagine you have 3 bitcoins and you send all of them to your close friend A. Actually you've just taken your bitcoin, made identical copies and send them to your friend A. You could now also send them to more friends. Now all of a sudden people care about what your doing, because money sort of has values and trust in them.
In a centralized World a bank would take care of this not happening but if we want the decentalized solution (touched on [in Part 2](https://steemit.com/life/@kimizius/your-introduction-guide-into-the-crypto-world-part-2-teil-2)) we need to find a way without a centralized organisation that controls stuff like this.
## Cryptocurrencies based on blockchain technology
A cryptocurrency is a digital currency on a blockchain in which every regulation is programmed in it's cryptographic algorithm.
* **Blockchain**: A complete and unchangeable Transactionhistory.
* **Cryptocurrency**: described above.
* **Bitcoin**: This word is being used to name the whole concept and idea of the first decentralized cryptocurrency.
* **bitcoin**: This one is the cryptocurrency of Bitcoin. (Be mindful about the capital B and the lowercase b)
A blockchain technology gives the basis for a decentralized currency to exist, but there are more than just one field of application that can exist on a Blockchain such as digital art (Music, augmented reality, GIF's etc.) and communication for example.

#### Willkommen zu Teil 3
In Teil 3 werde ich, wie versprochen, die Themen "Was ist eine Blockchain?" und "Wie Kryptowährungen auf Blockchain Technologie basieren" erklären.
## Was ist eine Blockchain?
Starten wir mit einem Beispiel. Wenn du die meisten deiner Einkäufe online erledigst und mit deinem Bankkonto über die verschiedensten Zahlungsvarianten zahlst, dann kommt irgendwann der Punkt wo du in deinem "Online Banking" dir deine Historie (Transaktionshistorie) anschaust oder direkt zu deiner Bank gehst und dort dann deinen Kontoauszug drucken lässt damit du siehst wo dein Geld hin ist.
Eine Blockchain ist eine komplette und unveränderliche Transaktionshistorie über alle Transaktionen einer dezentralisierten Gemeinschaft. Jeder der Teil davon ist, stimmt ihr automatisch zu. Jeder der Teil davon ist, speichert sich die Transaktionshistorie auf seinem Computer und kann so sicherstellen das niemand doppelt ausgibt. Diese Transaktionshistorie wird regelmäßig aktualisiert.

#### Was beteudet überhaupt doppelt ausgeben?
Stell dir vor du machst ein Selfie (Foto/Schnappschuss von dir selbst) auf deinem Handy. Nachdem du das Foto geschossen hast, ladest du es auf z.b. Facebook hoch. Beim hochladen des Fotos machst du eine genaue Kopie des Originalfotos umsonst. Du kannst das Foto überall (Instagram, Twitter, Lovoo usw.) und so oft wie du willst hochladen und das umsonst und da durch das hochladen deines Selfies niemand irgendeinen Schaden erleidet, interessiert es auch niemanden.
Jetzt stell dir aber vor du hast 3 bitcoin und du sendest alles deinem engen Freund A. Du machst dies aber wie vorher mit deinem Selfie undzwar machst du wieder eine genaue Kopie der 3 bitcoins ohne Kosten und schickst diese deinem Freund A. Du könntest dies jetzt natürlich mit all deinen Freunden machen. Plötzlich interessieren sich aber andere Menschen für das was du machst, weil Geld eine Art Wert und Vertrauen hat.
In einer zentralisierten Welt würde sich eine Bank darum kümmern damit dies nicht passiert aber wenn wir eine dezentrale Lösung (beschrieben [in Teil 2](https://steemit.com/life/@kimizius/your-introduction-guide-into-the-crypto-world-part-2-teil-2)) haben wollen, dann müssen wir einen Weg ohne zentraler Kontrollinstanz finden.
## Kryptowährungen basierend auf Blockchain Technologie
Eine Kryptowährung ist eine digitale Währung auf einer Blockchain in der jede Regulation auf ihrem kryptographischen Algorithmus programmiert ist.
* **Blockchain**: Eine komplette und unveränderbare Transaktionshistorie.
* **Kryptowährung**: oberhalb beschrieben.
* **Bitcoin**: Dieses Word wird dazu benutzt um das gesamte Konzept und die Idee der ersten dezentralen Kryptowährung zu benennen.
* **bitcoin**: Das ist die Kryptowährung von Bitcoin. (Achte auf das große B und das kleine b)
Blockchain Technologie legt die Basis/Grundlage damit eine dezentrale Währung existieren kann, aber es gibt auch andere Anwendungsgebiete auf einer Blockchain neben einer Währung, wie z.b. digitale Kunst (Musik, künstliche Intelligenz, GIF's usw.) und Kommunikation.
