# Quick Notes:

## Topic: 6 ways of getting our work done in a happier manner Well, who do not want to complete our work with a happy heart? I myself will also choose to enjoy rather than suffer from the work I am doing. Thus, it is important to understand and stand clear on what my work consist of. First, we need to list down our failures in our work and try to overcome it. It is normal to make mistakes but what matters is how fast we can recover from it. I find it very true as I find it dull when I have nothing much to achieve and try on. Meaning to say, I am relatively safe from making any mistakes but at the same time have no growth at all. Second, negotiate a better salary deal. It is not to say that putting the salary topic on the table is too realistic. I am still not that well in terms of putting salary on the table and discuss openly with my boss. Nonetheless, I am open to discuss my job scope improvement. I do think that when my responsibility increases and with certain performance level, I have my value to negotiate for higher salary. Nonetheless, it is all about negotiation skill and also my own commitment. With higher salary, we are naturally happier when committing for the company. Third is to differentiate work environment and family. Both colleagues and family members are different entities and should be given different priorities given at certain time. I am clear that I will give my best in my work but I will not be restrained from getting time off for my family. This will ensure my mental balance between work and life. Forth, we need to be careful with our PR. No matter how close we are with colleagues, we are still colleague first and friend second. Some events are supposed to stay private between families and not to be shared. This will ensure we can work happily and without unnecessary gossip between colleagues. Fifth, nothing wrong with getting emotional and break down for some time when dealing with work. It is normal to express ourselves with crying and stabilize our mental health. This ensures we can face the challenge with a brighter heart. Lastly, know when to refuse and leave. Some tasks may not be our priority to solve and deal with according to our scope of work. This is to ensure that we cover our part with professionalism and make sure the company incurs no loss in terms of our covered field. These tips are pretty fundamental but straight to the point to use. Good to make some notes and keep myself repeat on these points and always reminded. --- ## Topic: Privacy Protection in Big Data Generation? Turing Prize winner, Shafi Goldwasser put up a very challenging problem statement for this century which is privacy protection. We are so used to sharing our data with the internet community, in other words the whole world. On the other hand, we wish to be protected with certain level of privacy while the application that we used (all the social media , gaming app, working app, etc) now require us to share certain amount of personal data with them and they have the right to share and use the data. Nonetheless, we still need all of these useful softwares and application but with a new way to deal with our private and personal data. Whether or not it will become the new fossil oil of the 21st century, which appeared to be apt as of now, we still need to be aware with our shared information. --- *This is a learning notes series of mine for subscribing to Dedao App, which is a learning App available on iOS and Android. If you are able to understand Chinese and an avid learner, this app is definitely a thing for you! I was using this app since it was launched and I had greatly benefited by following the courses offered. This year, I would like to improve myself by increasing my output which is through doing study notes. I will be perfecting the notes day by day and my resolution is to make 365 notes this year every day (if missed like today, I will be putting up for the missed days).*
[Learn more about iGetget 得到 here.](https://www.igetget.com/)
