**TR:** Herkese merhabalar. Bugün farklı bir içerikle karşınızdayım. Daha önce kitap inceleme postu hazırlamamıştım bu sebeple biraz heyecanlıyım. 
John Steinbeck, "Fareler ve İnsanlar" kitabını okumaya başladığımda kitabın beni bu kadar çok etkileyeceğini düşünmüyordum. Kitabı okumaya başlayınca bu düşüncem daha ilk sayfalardayken değişti. Yazı dili oldukça sade ve anlaşılırdı. Kitap sayfaları ilerledikçe kendimi kitabın içerisinde buldum. Betimlemelere oldukça sık yer verilmiş. Olaylar gerçekleşirken sanki bende orada olaylara şahit oluyordum😃 Bunlar benim bir kitapta olmasını istediğim şeylerdi. Üniversitede ders kitabı olarak okuduğum kitaplar çok ağırdı, sadece bilgi içeren kitaplardı bunlardan dolayı da bir aralar ders kitabı dışında diğer kitapları okumayı bırakmıştım. Fareler ve İnsanları okurken kitaba sarılasım geldi aradığım, özlediğim kitap işte buydu😃😃 Bu kadar iltifattan sonra kitabı gerçekten çok beğendiğimi anlamışsınızdır. O halde gelin biraz da kitabın içeriği hakkında konuşalım.

> **EN:** Hello everyone. Today I am here with a different content. I have not prepared a book review post before, so I am a little excited. 
When I started reading John Steinbeck, "Of Mice and Men", I did not think that the book would affect me so much. When I started reading the book, this thought changed in the first pages. The writing language was very simple and understandable. As the pages of the book progressed, I found myself in the book. Descriptions are used quite often. While the events were taking place, it was as if I was witnessing the events there😃 These were the things I wanted to be in a book. The books I read as textbooks at university were very heavy, they were books that contained only information, and because of these, I stopped reading books other than textbooks for a while. While reading Of Mice and Men, I wanted to hug the book, this was the book I was looking for, the book I missed😃😃😃 After so many compliments, you understand that I really liked the book. So let's talk a little bit about the content of the book.

Hikâyemiz Salinas Nehri kıyısında başlıyor. Kahramanlarımız nehir kenarındaki bir çiftliğe çalışmaya gelirler: George Milton ve Lennie Small. George zeki, akıllı ve insanlarla iletişim kurabilen biridir. Diğer kahraman Lennie ise güçlü ve kuvvetli ama kendini ifade edemiyor. Olayların kahramanlarımızın karakter özellikleriyle yakından ilişkili olduğunu düşünüyorum. George ve Lennie geceyi nehir kenarında geçirirler ve hayalleri ve gelecek planları hakkında konuşurlar.  George ona ikisinin de hayalini kurduğu yerden, bir toprak parçası alıp orada yaşamaktan, çeşitli hayvanlar beslemekten, farklı sebze ve meyveler yetiştirmekten, istedikleri zaman çalışıp istedikleri zaman çalışmamaktan bahseder.
  Belki de Lennie'nin en çok ilgisini çeken kısım tavşan besleyecekleri ve onlara bakacağıdır. 
 Kitabı okurken şu an yaşadığımız ve beğenmediğimiz şeylerin bir başkasının hayali olabileceği aklımdan hiç çıkmadı. 



>Our story begins on the banks of the Salinas River. Our heroes come to work on a ranch near the river: George Milton and Lennie Small. George is smart, intelligent and able to communicate with people. The other hero, Lennie, is strong and powerful but unable to express himself. I think the events are closely related to the character traits of our heroes. George and Lennie spend the night by the river and talk about their dreams and future plans.  George tells him about the place they both dream about, about buying a piece of land and living there, keeping various animals, growing different vegetables and fruits, working when they want and not working when they want.
  Perhaps the part that attracted Lennie the most was that they would keep rabbits and he would take care of them. 
 While reading the book, it never left my mind that what we are living and disliking now may be someone else's dream.

Çiftliğe vardıklarında patron George ve Lennie'den arpa harmanında çalışmalarını ister, onlar da sırtlarında saman balyaları taşırlar. Patron ve Lennie arasında geçen diyaloglar ve patronun Lennie'yi küçümseyip hor görmesine rağmen George'un Lennie'ye karşı korumacı tavrı, aralarında sıkı bir bağ olduğunu gösterir. George, Lennie'yi sadece patronuna karşı değil, orada çalışan herkese karşı da korur. 

J. Steinbeck toplumsal konulara çok yer vermiştir. Crooks ve Lennie arasındaki diyaloğu buna örnek olarak verebilirim. Crooks siyahi bir at bakıcısıdır ve orada çalışan insanlar onunla iletişim kurmazlar ve onunla aynı odada bulunmak istemezler. Kendine ait ayrı bir odası olan Crooks bu durumu istemeyerek de olsa kabullenir ve diğer insanlara karşı tavır alır. Lennie odasına gelmek istediğinde ilk başta afallamış ve buna izin vermek istememiştir. Lennie'nin ısrarlarına dayanamaz ve izin verir. Daha sonra başka biri daha gelir ve onun gelmesine de tereddütle izin verir. Crooks'un ruh hali ve odasına gelenlere karşı davranışları detaylı ve etkileyici bir şekilde anlatılmış. Crooks'un dışlanma karşısında neler düşündüğünü, diğer insanlara nasıl davrandığını, insanlar ayrımcılık yaptığı için atlarla nasıl arkadaşlık ettiğini hüzünle okudum. 
Sanki yazar empati kurmamızı istemiş, bu yüzden olayları detaylı bir şekilde anlatmış ve betimlemiş.  

>When they reach the farm, the boss asks George and Lennie to work at the barley threshing floor, where they carry bales of hay on their backs. The dialogues between the boss and Lennie and George's protective attitude towards Lennie in spite of the boss's disdain and contempt for Lennie show that there is a close bond between them. George protects Lennie not only against his boss but also against everyone who works there. 

J. Steinbeck has given much space to social issues. I can give the dialog between Crooks and Lennie as an example. Crooks is a black horse keeper and the people working there do not communicate with him and do not want to be in the same room with him. Crooks, who has a separate room of his own, reluctantly accepts this situation and takes a stand against other people. When Lennie wanted to come to his room, he was stunned at first and did not want to allow it. He could not stand Lennie's insistence and gave permission. Later, another person came and he hesitantly allowed him to come. Crooks' mood and his behavior towards those who come to his room are described in detail and impressively. I read with sadness what Crooks thinks in the face of exclusion, how he treats other people, how he befriends horses because people discriminate. 
It is as if the author wanted us to empathize, so he described and described the events in detail.

Zaman geçtikçe kahramanlarımız çiftliğe alışır hatta kendilerine ait toprak almak istediklerini birkaç arkadaşlarına bahsederler. Arkadaşları da onlara katılmak istediklerini belirtirler. İçlerinden bir tanesi birikmiş parası olduğunu, onlara verebileceğini söyler ve  George'dan hemen bir yer bulmasını ister. 
Olaylar güzel giderken ben bile(bir okuyucu olarak) onların kendilerine ait bir toprak alabileceklerine inanmıştım, onların bu hayallerini gerçekleştirmelerini çok istemiştim. 
Lennie talihsiz bir olay yaşar ve istemeyerek birinin ölümüne sebep olur. Bu kişi de çiftlik sahibinin gelinidir. Herkes Lennie'yi ararken o hikayenin başladığı yere gider. Çünkü ona George başına bir iş gelirse oraya gelmesini ve çalılıkların arasında saklanmasını söylemişti. Onu orada korkmuş bir halde George bulur ve ona son defa hayallerini anlatır. Hayalleri dinleyen Lennie'nin boynuna bir silah dayanır ve silah ateş edilir. 
 Silahı ateş edenin Lennie'yi hep koruyup  kollayan George olduğunu öğrendiğimde tabiri caizse başımdan aşağı kaynar sular dökülmüştü. 
Çok beğenerek okuduğum sonunun gelmemesini istediğim bir kitaptı Fareler ve İnsanlar. Kitap bittikten sonra arkadaşlık ve dostluk kavramı üzerinde uzun uzun düşündüm. 

Umarım hayatımız boyunca edindiğimiz arkadaşlıklar ve dostluklar hep devam eder. Yazımı okuduğunuz için teşekkür ederim. Bir sonraki postta görüşmek üzere.

As things were going well, even I (as a reader) believed that they would be able to buy a piece of land of their own, I wanted them to realize their dream. 
Lennie has an unfortunate incident and unintentionally causes the death of someone. This person is the farm owner's daughter-in-law. While everyone is looking for Lennie, he goes to the place where the story began. Because George had told him to come there and hide in the bushes if anything happened to him. George finds him there, frightened, and tells him his dreams for the last time. As Lennie listens to the dreams, a gun is put to his neck and the gun is fired. 
 When I learned that it was George, who always protected and protected Lennie, who fired the gun, so to speak, boiling water poured down my head. 
Of Mice and Men was a book that I liked very much and I wanted it not to end. After the end of the book, I thought long and hard about the concept of friendship and friendship.
