Extrapolating from Dan Walton's research, we can anticipate 3 new writers of smart contracts joining the current pool of about 1000 every day. We can also anticipate that about 10 unique new binary contracts are written per day. Utilities that use Solidity tend to have the most traction currently. There should be an escalating curve of both authors and well formed contracts over this coming year, since Ethereum has been implementing smart contracts for only about one year. Interesting times.
