Interesting post. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. I think about this stuff a lot. It's so sad when you see people out for meals together, or parents outside with their kids, looking down on their phones rather than making eye contact and connecting with who is there in the present moment. 
The internet is an incredible tool that we are lucky to have. Social media truly can help us to stay connected and Google can help us to learn. However, we have a duty not to abuse it. To use it with a sense of balance and perspective. If we become too consumed in the internet world, we risk losing the ability to communicate truly as we were designed to. Eye contact and physical contact like hugging triggers chemicals in us that help us to bond and feel good. I doubt that we get that from our screens. In fact, if anything, I'd take a guess that our screen time induced stress hormones. We really do need to be careful.
