There are two ways to earn **Colony** in MoonKarts. 1) You earn Colony via match rewards (ranked & on-track rewards) and 2) Leaderboard rewards. In this guide, let's dwell everything we need to know about **LB rewards**.

First, **Leaderboards** can be located on top-left corner of the home screen of Moonkarts named **Rank**. When you click that button, you are directed to the leaderboards tab. There you see two leaderboard - **Ranked Leaderboards & Orbitals Leaderboard**.

#### Ranked Leaderboards

Also known as *Seasonal Rewards Pool* is a pool allocated to *incentivize consistent excellence and strategic gameplay* - as defined by MK Whitepaper. The more you play & win, the better your ranking. All ranking points within the 10-day are accumulated and as defined by the white paper, 20% of the rewards are allocated in Ranked leaderboards. Here are key infos for Ranked leaderboard rewards:

- In every ranked match you do, if you place 1st, you are awarded +20 points
- If you place 2nd, you are awarded +15 points
- If you are 3rd-6th, there will be point deduction 

In terms of amount of rewards, the rankings are fixed per position starting from 27000, 13500, 11500, 11000, etc.

Ranked leaderboards resets every 10-days.

#### Orbitals Leaderboard
Receving 40% of the rewards pool per season, **Orbitals leaderboard** is the most sought rewards. It is a combined effort of the following:

- Your position in every race (1st & 2nd)
- The quality of Kart equipment you are using (rarity)
- Amount of accumulative races you made that you acquired atleast 3 orbital runes

Take note that you need to get atleast 3 orbital runes per match to get orbital points. These points will then be accumulated for the orbitals leaderboard. 

Position for every race also matters, as 1st and 2nd placers are only able to qualify for the orbital points (provided that you also get atleast 3 orbital runes). 

The more matches you play, the more orbital points you accumulate. Every 10days, the orbital rewards pool will then be distributed linearly among the players. Approximately around 540k Colony tokens are distributed among the players every season.
