If the very young Universe was being wrecked by scalar fields that monstrously energetic waves could have been created. These are quasi-particles called oscillons.

Image by kordula vahle from Pixabay * Be also sure to check out my other posts and follow me @kralizec and subscribe to my Youtube channel at [Kralizec Gaming Youtube Channel](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCM6bVobsVUBzJ-oqajqI-eA)

Mainstream physicists believe that the freshly-born Universe went through a very short but very intense period of cosmological inflation. If it did really happen the Universe became dramatically larger when it did. The problem? The fact that we still have no idea what could have caused this inflation to happen and what stopped it later.

In a way, cosmological inflation is similar to dark matter and dark energy. It solves a problem that arose from our observations of the Universe as the scientists needed to explain why the Universe is so homogeneous in all directions. And inflation would certainly explain that. When it comes to what started cosmological inflation there are few theories. Some include quantum scalar fields that should have been across all of the spacetime back then. Currently, spacial scalar fields aren’t anything that special but when the Universe was just a second old everything could have been quite different. You can imagine scalar fields as the surface of the ocean that goes from horizon to horizon and has waves across it. Usually, these waves are calm and regular but sometimes the sea can go wild and all the waves chaotically rage. Chinese researchers Yu Sang and Qing-Guo say that such a storm took place in the scalar ocean of the early Universe just after cosmological inflation took place.

Such a cosmic storm may have created extremely energetic oscillons – monstrous waves that could have lasted since those times to this day. Oscillons are quasi-particles – stable waves that behave as one. If they did exist, then the oscillons created in the quantum scalar field from the beginning of time might have not interacted directly with other particles but they did certainly have a large effect on spacetime itself. And shortly after their creation that may have had more energy than all the particles and physical fields combines. Obviously, that would have left some repercussions and most likely would unleash monstrous gravitational waves. The oscillons are most likely gone but the gravitational wave might have lasted and some of the planned gravitational observatories such as the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) could perhaps detect them.
Sources:
* https://arxiv.org/abs/2012.14697 --- * If you like the content I’m producing about science maybe you will like the content I produce about gaming as well!
