YouTube is changing its design - Try it out right now!
*Again - it's time for a Youtube design change. Google is often making UI changes. You can try these in an open-beta*

### Material design and a dark theme
Google announced that the new UI designed takes inspiration from the Material design and its goal is to divert attention from all things that could make you lose attention from the video. The new dark theme is the central point of this goal as it makes the videos themselves stand-out much much more.
You can activate the new UI through http://youtube.com/new . But remember this is only a beta version of the new UI, bugs may be present.
