Con un set ganado por parte de cada contendiente, se da inicio a la tercera vuelta, una que sería determinante porque es acá donde comienza a marcarse la diferencia en favor y también en contra y ya les aclaro el por qué.
Desde el comienzo de este set, Rafa comete algunos errores poco comunes en él, dejando pelotas en la red y pelotas largas; este tipo de situaciones no se pueden permitir cuando el rival es Djokovic, porque es un atleta que no regala nada y sabe manejar muy bien la presión del juego. Esta fase del partido fue de total igualdad de fuerzas, cada jugador había ganado un set con 6 x 3 y en el intermedio se encontraban igualados a 6, pero fue el número 1 del mundo quien lograría cerrar con el puño arriba, llevándose el 3er set que sería algo decisivo. Justamente allí, se vislumbraba el camino hacia el triunfo. El reloj marcaba 3 horas con 17 minutos de partido.
