그는 어릴 때부터 새로운 생각, 새로운 도전 의식을 가진 사람들의 습관이나 말을 귀담아 들어 자기 것으로 만드는 데 탁월한 능력이 있었다고 해요


빌게이츠의 꿈은 과학자였는데
대학 진학은 아버지 처럼 변호사가 되기 위해 법학과를 선택 했지만 입학 후 수학에 더 재능이 있는 것 같아 수학자의 길로 방향을 전환 했다고 하네요
하지만 빌게이츠는 수학을 손에서 놓았데요


빌게이츠는 열세 살 때 컴퓨터를 처음 접했고 당시 컴퓨터는 초보 단계였지만 컴퓨터에 마음을 뺏겨 게임을 하기 위해 직접 프로그램을 짜기도 했다고 해요


그 때 빌게이츠는 한 선배 '폴 앨런'를 만나 인생이 180° 바뀌었데요
'폴 앨런'은 컴퓨터에 정통한 컴퓨터광이었으며 
빌게이츠에게 컴퓨터 하드웨어에 관한 많은 정보를 알려 주었다고 해요


그 이후 두 사람은 밤을 세워 컴퓨터 조립을 하기도 했데요
그리고 그와 함께 빌게이츠는 마이크로소프트사를 창업 했다고 해요


사실 빌게이츠는 경쟁심이 강해 누구에게도 지는 것을 싫어하고 최고가 되지 못하면 못 견디는 성격을 지녔다고 하지만 그는 그 보다 더 컴퓨터에 능한 '폴 앨런'을 수용하고 그를 통해 마이크로소프트사를 창업했다고 하네요


빌게이츠가 만약 시기심에 눈이 멀어 그를 수용하지 못했더라면 마이크로소프트사를 세우기에는 어려웠을지도 모른다고 해요


빌게이츠는 지금도 다른 사람들의 의견을 귀담아 듣는데요
비록 경쟁사라고 하더라도 비난하지 말고 배울 것이 있다면 하나라도 배우라고 한다네요


2008년 6월 빌게이츠는 회장 자리에서 물러났고 재산의 95%를 어려운 사람들을 위해 쓰겠다고 했으며 아내와 함께 세운 재단에서 일하고 있죠


오늘 둘 째 딸아이와 빌게이츠 책을 읽으면서 많은 생각을 하게 되네요
세계적으로 존경을 받는 빌게이츠란 사람은 정말 대단하다는 생각이 들더라구요
오롯이 컴퓨터에 대한 그의 열정, 지도력, 또 가난하고 아픈 사람들을 돕는 따뜻한 마음까지...

너무나도 멋진 삶을 살아가는 진정한 부자멘토가 아닐까 싶어요

이것 저것 하려고 욕심 부리지 않고 빌게이츠 처럼 한 가지 일에 집중해서 성공할 수 있는 거기다 인성까지 갖춰 진다면 정말 완벽한 삶이겠죠

완벽한 부자가 되고 싶다면 빌게이츠의 좋은 습관을 자기 것으로 만들어 보는 것은 어떨까요??

빌게이츠 전기 영화는 스티브 잡스에 비해서는 너무 없는거 같아요. '실리콘 밸리의 해적들' 정도가 있는거 같습니다.  개인적으로 잡스보다 빌게이츠를 더 좋아하네요. ^^
