# I guess BAYC NFT owners will never find love...

Honestly, I don't even know what to say here. I had an insanely busy day then got home and decided to treat myself to a nice cold beer. As I was enjoying my beverage, I was doing my daily scroll through the Reddits and saw a post that made me giggle. Like audibly giggle. I had to write about it after I read it. The [Lonely Ape Dating Club](https://leofinance.io/@l337m45732/lonely-ape-dating-club-helping-bored-ape-owners-find-love) app I wrote about 3 months ago has been officially canceled.

It's really no surprise, but I forgot it was even a thing because I have the worst short term memory. The Lonely Ape Dating Club was going to be like tender for Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT owners. You had to own one of these $400,000 NFTs to even sign up for this thing and the idea was to connect with other Bored Ape owners to find true love.

You can tell from reading my post how hilarious I found this whole idea, and how I thought it was going to be awful. Literally the only people that were going to be using this app were crypto bros lol.

It was going to be a totally anonymous dating app that only allowed you to see the other user's net worth based on their NFT collection. Why would you wanna know the name of the person you're trying to meet up with? Why even worry about seeing a picture of them? They own a Bored Ape so they're clearly very smart and attraction LOL.

This thing was doomed to fail. I have trouble believing that the people that were trying to do it even believed in it. Maybe it was just a bit. Like a PR stunt. I dunno man, I just can't see many females hopping on to this app looking for their future husband, or even a hookup.

When I think about Bored Apes I think about crypto bros. Men that like cryto and are generally nerds. I don't think about someone that's too concerned about finding love. Sorry bois, but there will be no "Monkeying Around" for all you lonely BAYC NFT owners... The waitlist is closed and they have shut it down. Due to "unforeseen circumstances" of course. HAHAHA!

Above is a photo of one of the actual people that were on the waiting list. Look how fucking sad he is that he's not going to be able to pick a girlfriend based on her NFT net worth. I just have to wonder how much money they sank into building and marketing this before they realized that it's going to be 90% men? There's nothing wrong with a male-dominated app but this was clearly going to be a sausage fest.

The unforeseen circumstances that caused them to cancel the next Tinder will remain a mystery until the end of time... It will be written about in the history books of the future. Kids will be reading about this sad day in their NFT history books at school in the metaverse one day.

I just can't think of more words to say here. I'm dumbfounded that this ingenious idea didn't com to fruition. RIP to the Lonely Ape Dating Club. I sincerely hope anyone hurt by this will be ok. I know it's traumatic and you may have lost all hope of finding love but trust me... There's someone out there. Lol.
