This morning I woke up with a message that I didn't expect to receive. I was invited to go to my town's hospital to receive my covid vaccine. As I am of the third age, at 64 years old I was consired to be a candidate to receive one  because I am diabetics. I am the only person in my family to receive one.

My children were very worried about it because of the things you hear in the social media, in fact they didn't want me to receive it, and they told me so many things to convince me not to go to the hospital. We have heard that many people have died, other people has got very sick, and they have heard that it is a lie, that they inject water, that is not true. So you can hear about the vaccines so many things that confused you and make you doubt.

The day I had to go I woke up very early because I have to be at 8 am in the place. My darling accompanie me. We had a long walk to the hospital meditating about the event. I was quite sure I wanted to receive the vaccine, I wasn't afraid because it is better to have it than to be exposed to the virus and die. I have many friends that have died of covid and they didn't have the opportunity to get vaccinated. It doesn't mean you have to die if you get the covid, but you never know how it will affect you.

I was surprised when I got to the place because I didn't expect to see so many old people fighting for their lives. People of 80 and more years old were so happy because they were given an opportunity to live longer. The saddest thing of this illness is that you are not giving the chance to cry your dead family. The corpses are placed in a black plastic bag and they are thrown to a hole without anyone of your loving relatives and friends crying you or saying parting words.

I know someone who was invited by the university where he works to receive the vaccine, but he didn't accept it because he had read many scientific results about the covid, and he told me that those vaccines are not backed up by the World Health Organization, and he  let pass the opportunity, and now he is worried because there is no other chance for him and we have another covid viruses.

We don't know if the vaccines are good or bad, or we don't know if they are effective or not, but you need to belief that scientists are trying to do the best. All of a sudden the world is facing this pandemic and many people are dying, and there is the need to give a confidence vote to science and trust God is going to help us come out of this as He did in past pandemic times. The worst thing a man can do, is do nothing. So it is time to let people who knows more than you and me, do his work.

Many countries in the world are trrying to develop a vaccine, and that is the best thing to do because that increases confidence among people that  soon things are going to settle down. Instead of worring about the things that are going to happen, we must occupy in developing talents, concentrate in work and studies. One thing that we have to care about, is to look after our chijdren and youth and be clever enough to make them happy in this hostile world.

Men need to use the powers of the mind such as: to think, meditate, to reason, to apply an introspection that will help you  take the best decisions in your life. Instead of listening the social medias we must focus in what we think it is better for us and for our family. If we are wrong at least we did try to do something about the problem, and we didn't wait with our armas crossed.

When I was a child many people died of phthisis, and I had some neighbours ill we have to help them. It was a difficult time for my family because my father got it. We had to go to the hospital everyweek to be checked up, and we have to get vaccinated to prevent getting contaminated. My father suffered that illness for 2 years drinking 14 tablets daily. Social medias were not so competitive and there was not a war of ideas. Our parents decided we should have the vaccine and made the sacrificies needed to receive it. Those were times that medicines were not so advanced as nowdays. I am sure that scientists will play an important role in the search of the cure of the covid and of any other future illness. Meanwhile it is better to believe that to be vaccinated gives us a chance of living  a bit more and we are the only people who can decide that.

Esta mañana me desperté con un mensaje que no esperaba recibir. Me invitaron a ir al hospital de mi ciudad para recibir la vacuna del covid. Como soy de la tercera edad, a los 64 años se me seleccionó como candidato a recibir una porque soy diabética. Soy la única persona de mi familia que recibe la vacuna.

Mis hijos estaban muy preocupados por las cosas que han escuchado en las redes sociales, de hecho no querían que yo la recibiera, y me decían tantas cosas para convencerme de que no fuera al hospital. Hemos escuchado que mucha gente ha muerto, otra gente se ha enfermado, y han oído que es mentira, que te inyectan agua, que no es cierto.  Escuchas tantas cosas sobre las vacunas  que te confunden y te hacen dudar.

El día de la cita me desperté muy temprano porque tenía que estar a las 8 de la mañana en el lugar. Mi esposo de acompañó. Tuvimos una larga caminata hasta el hospital meditando sobre el evento. Estaba bastante segura de que quería recibir la vacuna, no tenía miedo porque es mejor tenerla que exponerse al virus y morir. Tengo muchos amigos que han muerto de covid y no tuvieron la oportunidad de vacunarse. No significa que morirás si contraes el covid, pero nunca sabes cómo te afectará.

Me sorprendí cuando llegué al lugar porque no esperaba ver a tantos ancianos luchando por sus vidas. Las personas de 80 años o mayores estaban muy felices porque se les dió una oportunidad de vivir más tiempo. Lo más triste de esta enfermedad es que no puedes llorar a tu familia muerta. Los cadáveres se colocan en una bolsa de plástico negra y se arrojan a un agujero sin que ninguno de tus amados parientes y amigos le lloren o expresen lo que sienten para  despedirte.

Conozco a alguien que fue invitado por la universidad donde trabaja a recibir la vacuna, pero no la aceptó porque había leído muchos resultados científicos sobre el covid, y me dijo que esas vacunas no están avaladas por la Organización Mundial de la Salud, y dejó pasar la oportunidad, y ahora está preocupado porque no hay otro chance para él y debe esperar que se presente otra jornada y ahora tenemos otro virus covid que enfrentar.

No sabemos si las vacunas son buenas o malas, o no sabemos si son efectivas, pero hay que creer que los científicos están tratando de hacer lo mejor. De repente, el mundo se enfrenta a esta pandemia y mucha gente está muriendo, y es necesario dar un voto de confianza a la ciencia y confiar en que Dios nos va a ayudar a salir de esta como lo hizo en tiempos de pandemias pasadas. Lo peor que puede hacer un hombre es no hacer nada. Así que, es hora de dejar que la gente que sabe más que tú y yo, haga su trabajo.

Muchos países en el mundo están tratando de desarrollar una vacuna, y eso es lo mejor que se puede hacer porque eso aumenta la confianza en la gente de que pronto las cosas se van a arreglar. En lugar de preocuparnos por las cosas que van a pasar, debemos ocuparnos en desarrollar talentos, concentrarnos en el trabajo y los estudios. Una cosa de la que tenemos que preocuparnos es de cuidar a nuestros niños y jóvenes y ser lo suficientemente inteligentes para hacerlos felices en este mundo hostil.

Los hombres deben utilizar las  facultades de la mente como: pensar, meditar, razonar, aplicar una introspección, que le ayude a tomar las mejores decisiones en su vida. En lugar de escuchar los medios sociales, debemos centrarnos en lo que creemos que es mejor para nosotros y para nuestra familia. Si nos equivocamos, al menos hemos intentado hacer algo para solucionar el problema, y no hemos esperado con los brazos cruzados.

Cuando era niña, mucha gente moría de tisis, y yo tenía algunos vecinos enfermos a los que teníamos que ayudar. Fue una época difícil para mi familia, porque mi padre contrajo la enfermedad. Teníamos que ir al hospital todas las semanas para que nos revisaran, y tuvimos que vacunarnos para evitar contagiarnos. Mi padre sufrió esa enfermedad durante 2 años, bebiendo 14 pastillas diarias. Los medios sociales no eran tan competitivos y no había guerra de ideas. Nuestros padres decidían que debíamos vacunarnos y hicieron los sacrificios necesarios para que la recibiéramos. Eran tiempos en los que los medicamentos no estaban tan avanzados como ahora. Estoy segura de que los científicos jugarán un papel importante en la búsqueda de la cura del covid-19 y de cualquier otra enfermedad futura. Mientras tanto, es mejor creer que vacunarse es una oportunidad de vivir un poco más y nosotros somos los únicos que podemos decidirlo.
