Playing with dough - Delicious Poppy seed rolls and children's joys!
<center>*It was a real gloomy autumn day, and It seemed as if the rain would never stop falling from the heavy leaden clouds. The ideal time to make cakes, and those with dough, warm and delicious :) The reason why I make the dough is that my Mila loves to play with it and make cakes with me. By the way, we love poppy seed treats, but this time instead of the strudel we adore, Mila and I made poppy seed rolls. They turned out fantastic, so here's the procedure*</center>

# For poppy seed filling:
* 200 g of ground poppy seeds
* 120 g of sugar
* 120 ml of milk

First, make a poppy seed filling. Boil the milk and sugar, then add the poppy seeds and mix until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat. The filling will cool while you prepare the dough.

# Wonderfully crispy dough:


* 375 g of flour
* 1 teaspoon baking powder
* 150 g butter
* 1 egg
* 60 g powdered sugar
* Juice of half a lemon
* 75 ml of milk

In a deeper bowl, add flour and baking powder, then add butter that has stood at room temperature for a while to soften. Combine flour and butter with your hands, then add egg, lemon juice and slowly add milk until the mass is combined. You need to knead a firmer dough that does not stick to your hands. You don't have to knead it as much as we do, because Mila got a little carried away :)

Mila loves to dip her fingers in the dough. Of course, this slows down the work, but in the sweetest way possible, because it is a pleasure to make cakes with her. She has her little pink apron and acts like a real professional chef.

As I mentioned Mila kneaded the dough and kneaded and kneaded :)

Divide the dough into three parts, wrap in foil and leave in the fridge for about an hour.

We kneaded the dough for a long time, but as expected Mila couldn't wait for her dough to freeze for so long, so we took it out after about twenty minutes :) 

Well, now comes the phase when it's hardest to work with children + that I was trying to take photos, so I couldn't be precise and some rolls didn't turn out the same, but they were eaten quickly, so it wasn't terrible that some turned out a little messy: D

To return to the procedure. Sprinkle flour on the work surface, roll out the dough into a circle, about 30 cm in diameter. The dough should be a few millimeters thick. Divide the circle into several parts, as in the pictures. It is ideal to divide it into 16 parts, I divided it into 12.

Put a third of the poppy seed filling over the dough and leave the ends without the filling. And roll :)

Put the rolls on baking paper and bake at 180 degrees Celsius for about twenty minutes. They should stay white.

When they are done, leave them to cool and sprinkle with powdered sugar.

We had a great time and the result was fantastic, although we did not fully follow the recipe :) Mila enjoyed it, we forgot about the boring autumn day, and the rolls turned out divine. Mila, like a real sister, didn't want to eat cookies alone but waited for her brother to come from school. It's always better to share wonderful moments :)
