<p>Hello steemians! As you can see on my blog posts, We have created a mountaineering club called LUMOC. Mountaineering/hiking/climbing requires gears that are essential for survival and as a beginner, I still am trying to afford basic gears just like camping burner or camping stove. So, to help myself while up in the mountains, I looked for other temporary solutions for my basic needs. And among the basic gears that I need is a burner or a camping stove. Since camping stoves are kinda expensive, I decided to make my own alcohol camping stove.</p><p><br></p><p><img src="https://i.imgur.com/8UOoCNW.jpg"></p><p><br></p><p>So today, I'm gonna share to you what I learned today and the process of making it.</p><p><br></p><h3><strong>Materials needed:</strong></h3><ul><li>Two empty cans of Soda</li><li>Sand Paper</li><li>Marker (pen or pen-tel pen)</li><li>Cutter</li><li>Ruler</li><li>Nail</li><li>Scissor</li></ul><p><br></p><p><img src="https://i.imgur.com/1wWQlBO.jpg"></p><p><br></p><h3><strong>STEP 1</strong></h3><p>Empty your cans and start sanding your cans using sand paper <em>(image 1.1)</em> until the whole can is sanded out or at least the portion you want to use. <em>(image 1.2)</em></p><p><img src="https://i.imgur.com/nZUOWIv.jpg"></p><p class="ql-align-center"><em>(image 1.1)</em></p><p class="ql-align-center"><br></p><p class="ql-align-center"><img src="https://i.imgur.com/Fu6OuEU.jpg"></p><p class="ql-align-center"><em>(image1.2)</em></p><p class="ql-align-center"><br></p><h3><strong>STEP 2</strong></h3><p>Measure your desired height of the can then grab a book or something you can put your marker to make a straight line around the can. Do this in both cans <em>(see images 2.1 and 2.2)</em></p><p><img src="https://i.imgur.com/TPaPerR.jpg"></p><p class="ql-align-center"><em>(image 2.1)</em></p><p class="ql-align-center"><br></p><p class="ql-align-center"><img src="https://i.imgur.com/saRypu4.jpg"></p><p class="ql-align-center"><em>(image 2.2)</em></p><p class="ql-align-center"><br></p><h3><strong>STEP 3</strong></h3><p>Using cutter, make a whole in one of the can's bottom part. it will be where you will fill the alcohol.</p><p class="ql-align-center"><img src="https://i.imgur.com/PlaH0PL.jpg"></p><p class="ql-align-center"><br></p><h3><strong>STEP 4</strong></h3><p>Again using your cutter, cut your soda cans a few cm higher from your marker. this will give you space to cleanly cut your cans using scissor. Do not throw the other half of the can as we still have to use it. </p><p><img src="https://i.imgur.com/ztQ6xtE.jpg"></p><p><img src="https://i.imgur.com/FJhp8PO.jpg"></p><p><br></p><h3><strong>STEP 5</strong></h3><p>Get the other half of the can and measure with the same measurement as the other two. <em>(images 5.1 and 5.2)</em></p><p><img src="https://i.imgur.com/hZUf0sB.jpg"></p><p class="ql-align-center"><em>(image 5.1)</em></p><p class="ql-align-center"><br></p><p><img src="https://i.imgur.com/QVKevSQ.jpg"></p><p class="ql-align-center"><em>(image 5.2)</em></p><p><br></p><p>Then clean cut both sides using scissors. You need to use denatured alcohol which can be bought in hardware. You can also try ethyl alcohol but it will not give you enough fire.</p><p><br></p><p>Here's a short video of its fire.</p><iframe class="ql-video" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen="true" src="<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/lCztM_TwUiI" frameborder="0" allow="autoplay; encrypted-media" allowfullscreen></iframe>" __idm_frm__="227"></iframe><p><br></p><p><br></p><p>I am so thankful that I successfully made my own camping stove. Now, I have stove I can use for cooking for a lot cheaper price rather than buying an expensive camping stove who has the same functionality. I am now ready for our outreach program and camping this coming may. :)</p><p><br></p><p>Are you planning to try this one? Share what you did on the comment section. Thank you. :)</p><p><br></p><p><br></p> <div class="hide-on-steemgigs"> <i>this post was made on <a href="https://steemgigs.org/@lakawero/steemgigstil-today-i-learned-to-make-camping-stove-tutorial">STEEMGIGS Where everyone has something to offer</a></i> </div>
