### <center>**Getting to know Andrés Eloy Blanco Square**</center>
On my day of walking, I had a call to a meeting in a square located in downtown Caracas, at 10:00 am, the Caracas Metro took me to the Capitolio station, from there a series of corners lead me to the historic center of the city and then I arrived at the Plaza Andres Eloy Blanco, now known as Plaza Lina Ron, a public square for the various activities that take place in the place. I arrived at the agreed time. After paying attention to the guidelines, we had to wait for the response of a ministerial official who was going to go to the place to propose a solution to the problem. To do so, we had to remain on site.

>En mi día de paseo, tenía una convocatoria a una reunión en una plaza ubicada en el centro de Caracas, a las 10:00 am, el Metro de Caracas me condujo hasta la estación de Capitolio, desde ahí una serie de esquinas me dirigen al casco histórico de la ciudad y luego llego a la Plaza Andrés Eloy Blanco, conocida ahora, como Plaza Lina Ron, una plaza pública por las diversas actividades que se realizan en el lugar. Llegué a la hora acordada. Después de poner atención a los lineamientos, había que esperar la repuesta de un funcionario ministerial que se iba a trasladar al lugar para plantear una salida al problema. Para ello, debíamos permanecer en el lugar.

While people were waiting, I took pictures of the square and walked around the paths that are in the place. Note that the square is quite wide with a cement floor, has a mirror of water and in its surroundings are the gardens with little foliage, as at this time our country is going through a drought that affects the entire landscape, exposing a layer of arid land, with little grass. As we know, the effects of climate change bring long periods of drought and then heavy rains; however, some plants remain green due to their ability to reserve water. A wonder of nature.


>Mientras la gente esperaba, me dediqué a tomar fotos de la plaza y a recorrer las caminerías que se encuentran en el lugar. Note que la plaza es bastante amplia con piso de cemento, cuenta con un espejo de agua y en sus alrededores se encuentran las jardinerías con poco follaje, ya que en estos momentos nuestro país está pasando por una sequía que afea todo el paisaje, dejando al descubierto una capa de tierra árida, con poca hierba. Como sabemos, los efectos del cambio climático traen consigo largos períodos de sequía y luego lluvias intensas; sin embargo, algunas plantas se mantienen con su verdor debido a la capacidad que tienen de reservar agua. Una maravilla de la naturaleza.

 This strategically located square converges with some financial and governmental buildings that are on the periphery, in the northwest is the Santa Capilla church, in front of it is parallel to Urdaneta Avenue, an important road artery, where several transportation lines converge from west to east. This photo of the Central Bank of Venezuela, taken from the bottom up from the square, shows that it was built with a four meter difference in level with respect to Urdaneta Avenue, and has two stairways to access it.


 >Esta plaza ubicada estratégicamente, converge con algunos edificios financieros, y gubernamentales que están en la periferia, en el noroeste se encuentra la iglesia Santa Capilla, en su frente se encuentra paralelamente la avenida Urdaneta, una importante arteria vial, donde confluyen diversas líneas de transporte que van de oeste a este. Esta foto del Banco Central de Venezuela, tomada de abajo hacia arriba desde la plaza, nos hace ver que fue construida con un desnivel de cuatro metros, con respecto a la avenida Urdaneta, para tener acceso a ella cuenta con dos escalinatas.

The Andrés Eloy Blanco Square has some works of art such as the Cristo Yacente, the sculpture made by the artist Cruz Álvarez García, made in bronze, also has other works, which have not identified the names of the authors.  


>La Plaza Andrés Eloy Blanco cuenta con algunas obras de arte como el Cristo Yacente, la escultura realizada por el artista Cruz Álvarez García, hecha en bronce, también posee otras obras, que no tienen identificado los nombres de los autores.

Although this palm tree is not a monument, it can be considered a masterpiece of nature because of its height.

Then I walked along the boulevard, where you can see the Santa Capilla Church, so that they are located on the left hand side is the square. Further to the end, where the blue signpost is, we can observe the vehicles passing through the well known Urdaneta Avenue. To get there, we can use any means of land transportation, its location is Catedral parish, Urdaneta Avenue, corner of Santa Capilla, Caracas. I found it charming to walk through these streets, on a cool day and with a lot of enthusiasm, once you take pictures you get into the heart of these historical places and you learn part of their history.

>Luego caminé por el bulevar, donde se observa la Iglesia Santa Capilla,para que se ubiquen a mano izquierda se encuentra la plaza. Más al final, donde está la señalización azul, podemos observar los vehículos transitando por la conocida Avenida Urdaneta. Para llegar a ella, podemos utilizar cualquier vía de transporte terrestre, su ubicación parroquia Catedral, Avenida Urdaneta, esquina de Santa Capilla, Caracas. Me pareció encantador caminar por estas calles, en un día fresco y con mucho entusiasmo, una vez que tomas fotos te vas metiendo en el corazón de esos lugares históricos y vas aprendiendo parte de su historia.
