# Comenzaré con un NO rotundo
Yo no soy, ni me considero, un seguidor de masas.

Y no lo digo desde la arrogancia, sino desde la conciencia. Porque durante muy poco tiempo, como la mayoría muchos amigos que conozco, estoy seguro de que viví repitiendo patrones sin saberlo. Me vestía como se esperaba, pensaba como se decía, actuaba como se suponía. Hasta que un día me pregunté. Que te pasa lanz porque estás copiando o que estoy haciendo, lo elegí yo

La pregunta que propone nuestra amiga @angelica7 esta semana en nuestro espacio de Encuentro de Talentos —¿sigues a las masas?— no es solo una invitación a escribir, es una forma que puedes a mirar hacia adentro. Y cuando lo haces, te das cuenta de que seguir a las masas no siempre significa estar en una multitud. A veces es más sutil: es seguir costumbres, ideas, creencias que nunca cuestionaste. Es repetir frases que no te representan. Es vivir una vida que no diseñaste tú, estoy seguro de que si te pones a pensar en eso te darás cuenta que es verdad.

No se trata de criticar a quienes admiran a figuras públicas, y eso abunda y lo peor es que de eso viven muchos en el mundo, tampoco pretendo rechazar lo popular por sistema. Todos tenemos referentes, y en muchos casos todos nos inspiramos en alguien. Pero hay una diferencia enorme entre inspirarse y copiar. Entre admirar y perderse en la sombra de otro.

Yo he decidido que mi voz vale y vale mas que la voz de otro. Que mis ideas, aunque imperfectas, merecen espacio. Que mi historia no será una réplica, sino una creación o posiblemente un ejemplo por lo menos para mis hijas, pero todo eso implica tomar decisiones incómodas, y en algunos casos romper con lo establecido, y a veces, caminar solo, precisamente por no seguir a las masas.

¿Y tú? ¿Cuántas veces has dicho “sí” cuando querías decir “no”? ¿Cuántas veces has seguido una tendencia sin preguntarte si realmente te representa? ¿Cuántas veces has callado tu voz por miedo a no encajar? Y estoy seguro de que eso te hace pensar en lo que pasa o en lo que haces para permanecer en una masa.

La propuesta de nuestra comunidad no es solo para escribir, es para despertar. Para que cada uno se mire sin filtros y reconozca qué parte de su vida es auténtica y cuál es prestada, pero pido disculpas, es posible que parezca ofensivo y no es mi intención. Porque cuando empiezas a notar los patrones, algo cambia. Te vuelves más consciente, más libre, más tú, no, no es fácil. A veces seguir a las masas es más cómodo. Te da pertenencia, te evita conflictos, te hace sentir parte de algo. Pero también puede robarte la oportunidad de descubrir quién eres realmente.

No sigas a las masas si eso significa perderte.

Sigue tu intuición, tu curiosidad, tu fuego interno.

Y si decides caminar junto a otros, que sea porque comparten tu visión, no porque te arrastran.

# I will start with a resounding NO
I am not, nor do I consider myself, a mass follower.

And I do not say this from arrogance, but from conscience. Because for a very short time, like most many friends I know, I'm sure I lived unknowingly repeating patterns. I dressed as expected, thought as told, acted as assumed. Until one day I asked myself. What's wrong with you pitch because you're copying or what am I doing, I chose it.

The question proposed by our friend @angelica7 this week in our Talent Gathering space - do you follow the masses - is not just an invitation to write, it's a way you can look inward. And when you do, you realize that following the masses doesn't always mean being in a crowd. Sometimes it's more subtle: it's following customs, ideas, beliefs that you never questioned. It's repeating phrases that don't represent you. It's living a life that you didn't design, I'm sure if you think about it you'll realize it's true.

It is not about criticizing those who admire public figures, and that abounds and the worst thing is that many people in the world live on that, neither do I intend to reject the popular by system. We all have references, and in many cases we are all inspired by someone. But there is a huge difference between being inspired and copying. Between admiring and getting lost in someone else's shadow.

I have decided that my voice is worth more than someone else's voice. That my ideas, though imperfect, deserve space. That my story will not be a replica, but a creation or possibly an example at least for my daughters, but all that implies making uncomfortable decisions, and in some cases breaking with the established, and sometimes, walking alone, precisely for not following the masses.

How about you? How many times have you said “yes” when you meant to say “no”? How many times have you followed a trend without asking yourself if it really represents you? How many times have you silenced your voice for fear of not fitting in? And I'm sure that makes you think about what happens or what you do to stay in a mass.

The proposal of our community is not only to write, it is to wake up. For everyone to look at themselves without filters and recognize which part of their life is authentic and which is borrowed, but I apologize, it may seem offensive and that's not my intention. Because when you start noticing patterns, something changes. You become more aware, more free, more you, no, it's not easy. Sometimes following the masses is more comfortable. It gives you belonging, it keeps you from conflict, it makes you feel part of something. But it can also rob you of the opportunity to discover who you really are.

Don't follow the masses if it means missing out.

Follow your intuition, your curiosity, your inner fire.
