Very good article outlining FBs attempt  to control  the world a d every aspect of our lives. 
I left that platform sometime ago due to its controlling nature.
I would not be in favour if giving them my banking details as well.
Having said that, it is good news for all crypto including  steem. 
Those that are being controlled by FB will jump on this latest band wagon with glee and the few that are clever will steer clear, but may start to look at crypto in a new light.
At last Facebook may actually do some good in this world, all be it by mistake.
I think the establishment is now shaking in its boots.

If I can get into this and earn coins, I might do it. but I do not see myself sending money to facebook in any form.

Advise not to buy cryptocurrency from Facebook.
Because of the official face of Facebook, the way to handle things is very arrogant.
Because, they will say that they have arbitrary power.
Therefore, it is possible to freeze your assets.

Because Facebook has frozen the permissions of the site.

There's a war in for who gets to be the supranational money. Our needs are evolving beyond what gold and the USD can offer and something is needed. The first player to get wide adoption will take a very large price and win a lot of power for their host government.
I won't stack Libra, but if it's accepted widely then I will use it. There are already players in this space and Facebook better hurry up. The lawmakers asking them to slow down likely have no idea how far behind the US is.
I'd like to see some guarantees that my Libra won't be frozen without judicial oversight.
Libra doesn't need to be a privacy coin to be useful.

Dear @lanzjoseg, Libra is causing a stir in the whole cryptographic world. Even though it has its detractors, I think that Libra will bring a lot of visibility to blockchain and this will favor the adoption. This is simply my opinion.

If fb ask me for money to convert to libracoin, i will not waste it, if fb will not give me free coins for years of using my data as collateral for their business.

No libra for me.

Adding all that up, I think FB is good news because everyone will be aware of crypto and its potential. Also, those who are on crypto for the quick grab will most certainly land on FB coin, thus letting great projects such as Steem for people interested in other objectives like freedom, censorship resistance, and privacy. Finally those who are seeking for these characteristics and still are not aware of what they can have with platforms such as Steem, will first land on Libra and when they found out that is more of the same sh.t they will focus sight on Steem or another similar platform

For me I think it is a welcomed development in the sense that it enlightens the world about cryptocurrencies and the possibility it holds and that is where my positives ends for it.

I think with all I have read about it it is a centralized thingy and not a decentralized thingy. So there is going to be massive control of how things work on it.

People can get kicked out at will for speaking against their government, you can easily be traced and all your funds frozen.

It is an easy way of the same set of sh.t holes, sorry for the bad mouth. It's so painful that the same set of big players that have been frustrating the cryptocurrency community are the same set of people that are going to be big players in this so called cryptocurrency called Libra. 

PayPal, MasterCard, VisaCard, Facebook, you name it, the wanted an end to bitcoin and altcoins, they encouraged governments to ban it or not accept it because they wanted to remain in control and control our money.

I don't intend buying any of it or getting involve in it, but I use MasterCard, VisaCard and PayPal and I won't be shock if they won't implement a way of linking them such that you're forced to own them. 

That is my 2 cents worth of contribution to the discussion @lanjoseg. Nice article by the way. Cheers.

Good article on Libra. Sadly, it won't be launching in India. I would be interested to read more on its white paper. But Mastercard, Visa and PayPal being a part of it is good indicator of cryptos going mainstream.

Personalmente creo que puede ser muy bueno, ya que muchas personas (millones) usan la aplicación y con esto puede hacer que la Libra sea de bastante confianza, a parte de tener billetera propia, es más conveniente. Whatsapp, Twitter e Instagram deberian hacer lo mismo en esas plataforma.

A good subject you have opened. In my country crytpocurrency knowledge has not developed much. So many people use Facebook but they are even not aware of Libra or whatsoever called cryptocurrency. 

I think that after privacy scandal Facebook has lost confidence all over the world. Thus their new crypto currency gives a fear about privacy. 

With 27 co-corporations Facebook's Libra has a strong potential to expand and hand over of the control of monetary and fiscal policies from states to companies. Therefore a ban is likelihood from some countries. 

It looks, as well as other cryptocurrencies, global regulations should be acted for Libra too.

Libra will be the future if you can pay with it. In my country this is not the case with other cryptocurrencies. With it Facebook will also have all your personal information also that last bit you do not want to share with them. Your bankaccount, ID, fingerprints, social security number, etc etc.
