<div class="text-justify"> El día de hoy estoy muy contenta, ya que gracias a HIVE pude hacer algo que tenía planeado hacer desde hace meses y por falta de dinero no había podido, castrar a mis gatos.
Ya tenía un gato de 2 años cuando Jojo [(su historia aquí)](https://peakd.com/hive-196708/@latiffaki/esp-eng-la-historia-de-jojo-jojo-s-story) llegó a nuestro hogar y podía ver como este gato mayor se iba y desaparecía por días, en más de una ocasión pensábamos que no volvería, además, cuando llegaba tenía múltiples lesiones. Llegó a tener heridas tan abiertas que requerían de sutura.
Le preguntamos al veterinario de confianza ¿Qué podíamos hacer? Y nos recomendó castrarlos. Así que tomamos la decisión de hacerlo, pero por falta de dinero no se pudo hasta ahora. Luego llegaron Jojo y Teo, (Sí, soy la loca de los gatos, lo sé) y pues creció en mí el deseo de castrarlo para no verlo en estas condiciones.

## Entre los beneficios de castrarlos encontramos:
* Los riesgos de ser atropellado reducen:
Decenas de gatos mueren atropellados cada año cuando van al exterior en búsqueda de gatitas en celo. Una vez que nuestra mascota es castrada, su apetito sexual se reduce y ya no siente la necesidad de salir a la calle y arriesgar su vida y ser atropellado.
* Minimiza la agresividad hacia otro machos:
Es común que durante el vagabundeo, el gato tenga encuentros agresivos con otros machos que al igual que él, están en búsqueda de pareja. Durante esas pelas, los gatos pueden recibir peligrosos mordiscos y arañazos, estos terminan siendo potenciales focos para la formación y la transmisión de enfermedades, entre ellas la leucemia felina y la inmunodeficiencia.
* Desciende la población de gatos callejeros:
Actualmente las calles de las grandes ciudades están llenas de gatitos que no poseen ningún tipo de control en vacunas, que padecen enfermedades de cualquier tipo y que podrían ser contagiosas para otros animales, sin embargo, el mayor problema radica en que miles de camadas de pequeños gatitos rondan por la ciudad sin ser cuidados, con falta de atención y amor, y sobre todo viven ante la amenaza de personas que no tienen ningún sentido por el respeto a la vida de los animales y no les importa maltratarlos, por tanto, castrar a un gato ayudará a reducir la población de gatos callejeros, es importante llevar un control para que no sean los mininos quienes paguen las consecuencias y sufran.
* Se elimina la posibilidad de sufrir enfermedades en los testículos:
El cáncer, la prostatitis, las hernias perianales, las adenomas, la hiperplasia prostática benigna y demás enfermedades relacionadas con la testosterona ya no serán problema, los gatos castrados no sufrirán por enfermedades donde el aparato reproductor esté comprometido. Asimismo, la castración previene la propagación de enfermedades genéticas y la frustración sexual.
* El marcaje con orina podría reducir:
El marcaje con orina es quizás una de las mayores preocupaciones de los propietarios que no cuentan con grandes espacios ni exteriores en su hogar, la castración podría eliminar el marcaje, sin embargo no es 100 por ciento seguro, porque las hormonas sexuales no solo intervienen en el marcaje, también los niveles de estrés del gato tienen mucho que ver. Básicamente lo que cambia es cuando un gato es castrado, el olor de la orina es menos intenso, esto se debe a la baja concentración de felinina, la encargada de conceder ese olor fuerte a la orina de los mininos. Esta sustancia abunda en los gatos sin castrar.

De verdad estoy muy feliz de haber hecho esto ya que mejorara la calidad de vida de mi gato y reducirá el riesgo de que pueda enfermar o salir herido.
