Greetings to all my dear friends of this beautiful community of artisans, I hope you are well, happy and blessed weekend, on Monday I wanted to make my participation for needlepoint Mondays and with so much rain there were many issues related to electricity and I could not finish on time my initiative for that day.

I have many garments that I decided to give a second chance by transforming their designs, making them more comfortable and versatile, this time it is 2 jackets with textures and color that I love, and that timeless combination, for this winter season I really like because I can play with textures colors and multiple transformations.

Another reason why I decided to make the transformation of these 2 jackets is that they were too tight, and I did not want to lose them and my daughter was not encouraged to use them, on the other hand, I wanted to give them another look as more versatile, something that would suit my daily needs to go out on all occasions especially in these rainy days.

So I put my hands to work and I came up with this nice combination, where I fused both garments to make a comfortable and warm jacket of soft fabrics and colors that I love to use, since I can combine them with various shades.

> Saludos para todos mis queridos amigos de esta hermosa comunidad de artesanos, espero que se encuentren bien, feliz y bendecido fin de semana, el lunes quise hacer mi participación para los lunes de agujas y con tanta lluvia hubo muchos asuntos relacionados con la electricidad y no logre terminar a tiempo mi iniciativa para ese día. 

> Tengo muchas prendas engavetadas que decidí darle una segunda oportunidad transformando sus diseños, haciéndolos más cómodos y versátiles, en esta oportunidad se trata de 2 chaquetas de texturas y color que me encanta, y que la combinación atemporal, para esta temporada de invierno me gusta mucho porque puedo hacer juego con las texturas, colores y múltiples transformaciones.

> Otra de las cosas por las que decidí hacer la transformación de estas 2 chaquetas es que me quedaban muy ajustadas, y no quería perderlas y mi hija no se animó en usarlas, por otra parte, quería darles otro aspecto como más versátil, algo que se adaptara a mis necesidades diarias para salir en toda ocasión sobre todo en estos días lluviosos.

> Así que puse manos a la obra y me ingenie esta linda combinación, donde fusione ambas prendas para hacer una cómoda y calentita chaqueta de telas suaves y de colores que adoro usar, ya que los puedo combinar con varios tonos.
Espero les guste mi apasionante trabajo de costura del día.

To start, the first thing I did was cut the pieces from the white jacket or vest, to use them in the beige jacket. The main pieces are the sleeves, which are exact, just by sewing them to the other beige piece. With the rest of the white fabric, I measured and cut a ribbon that I will use to lengthen the beige jacket a little more. From the ribbed fabric strip that runs around the edge of the white jacket, I will use it for the collar and hem. So I cut each piece with their respective measurements to my size.

> Para empezar lo primero que hice fue cortar las piezas de la chaqueta o chaleco blanco, para utilizarlas en la chaqueta beige, las piezas principales son las mangas, que quedan exactas solo de coser a la otra pieza beige, con el resto de la tela blanca medí y corte una cinta que usaré para alargar un poco más la chaqueta beige, y de la franja de tela acanalada que va por todo el borde la chaqueta blanca, voy a usarla para cuello y ruedo. Así que corte cada pieza con sus respectivas medidas a  mi talla.

I made the cutting corrections, remeasured and cut off the excess fabric, then threaded the machine and sewed the band I made with three rectangles of white fabric so I could have enough fabric for the lower hem, which I wanted to be a little longer.

But before sewing the hem piece of the jacket, I had to extend the beige jacket a little on the sides, using a piece of fabric that I had to unstitch from the beige jacket for this purpose, since the jacket was fitting too tight.

> Hice las correcciones de corte, volví a medir y corte los excedentes de tela, luego enhebre la máquina y cosí la cinta que forme con 3 rectángulos de la tela blanca para que me pudiera dar la tela, para la parte baja del ruedo, que yo quería que fuera un poco más larga.

> Pero antes de coser la pieza del ruedo de la chaqueta, tenía que ampliar un poco la chaqueta beige por los laterales, con una pieza de tela que debía descoser, de la chaqueta beige para este fin, ya que la chaqueta me estaba quedando muy ajustada.

As I mentioned before, I need to widen the jacket to make it more comfortable, and the fabric I used was the collar. So I unstitched the collar, took out two pieces, and folded one of the two pieces in half to make two pieces for the sides.

I laid out the cuts for the pieces, then unstitched the hem of the jacket and the sides, then carefully positioned the side pieces to widen the sides.

> Como les comente anteriormente, debo ampliar la chaqueta para hacerla más cómoda, y la tela que utilice, fue la del cuello, así que descosí el cuello, saque 2 piezas, y una de las 2 piezas, la doble a la mitad para hacer 2 piezas para los laterales. 

> Presente los cortes de las piezas, luego descosí el ruedo de la chaqueta más los lados, luego ubique muy bien las piezas laterales para ampliar los costados.

After I sewed the pieces to widen the sides, the next step was to sew the sleeves, on the inside, and then I sewed a double overstitch on the right side.

Finishing with the sleeves I started sewing the collar with the ribbed fabric I removed from the white jacket, I am excited about the new look of these 2 jackets, the next thing was to measure all the way around the neck, then secure with pins to sew.

> Terminando con las mangas comencé a coser el cuello con la tela acanalada que extraje de la chaqueta blanca, me emociona el nuevo aspecto de estas 2 chaquetas, lo siguiente fue medir todo el contorno del cuello, luego asegure con alfileres para coser.

I finished the collar and moved on to stitching the hem with the fabric tape I had set aside, which I couldn't sew until I'd gone through all the previous steps so that everything met at a precise point without extra fabric or puckered seams.

I sewed the hem on the inside and added a top overstitch to polish the garment. With this step, the jacket is ready to be worn with a new look that I hope you'll tell me if you like, or if you'd prefer to leave it as it was.

> Termine el cuello, pase a coser el ruedo con la cinta de tela que había reservado y que no podía coser hasta pasar por todos los pasos anteriores para que todo diera en un punto exacto sin telas extras ni costuras arruchadas.

> Cosí el ruedo por la parte interna y una sobre costura superior para pulir la prenda, con este paso la chaqueta queda lista para ser usada con un nuevo aspecto que espero me digan si les gusto, o si preferían dejarlas con su estilo original.
