Wednesday Walk - Short walk through Punta Dorado: admiring the beach is never a bad plan! / Pequeño paseo por Punta Dorado: ¡admirar la playa nunca es un mal plan! 😃❤️

When it's just morning here in Argentina and the thermometer already marks 84 F, all that remains is to take refuge in the memories of better days when it wasn't as hot as it is now. Although I like that summer is approaching, I would not refuse to go back to one of the many walks we did while we were on a trip to Puerto Madryn, where despite the daily bright sun we had a cold wind that froze our faces. On this Walking Wednesday I want to share with you some postcards from our visit to one of the viewpoints in the <strong>El Doradillo area in the province of Chubut</strong>, where we took the opportunity to breathe some fresh air and see the immensity of the sea ❤️.

Aunque me gusta que se acerque el verano, no me negaría a volver a una de las tantas caminatas que hicimos mientras estuvimos de viaje en Puerto Madryn, donde a pesar del sol radiante diario teníamos un viento frío que nos congelaba la cara. En este Miércoles de Paseos quiero compartir con ustedes unas postales de nuestra visita a uno de los miradores del área de <strong>El Doradillo en la provincia de Chubut</strong>, donde aprovechamos para respirar un poco de aire fresco y ver la inmensidad del mar ❤️. </em>

We reached this area after having traveled about 15 km from the center of the city of Puerto Madryn. Our idea was to <a href="https://peakd.com/@lauramica/argentina-whale-season-at-el-doradillo-beach-chubut-province-temporada-de-ballenas-en-la-playa-el-doradillo-provincia-de-chubut">see some whales from the beach, and we did</a>. There were those giants of the sea and we watched them go from here to there for a few hours until it was time to go back to our apartment. On the way back we saw other descents and approaches to the beach, so we couldn't help but stop for a moment there: luckily my friend's family really wanted to explore so we got out of the truck every so often 😅.

Allí estaban esos gigantes del mar y los vimos pasar de aquí para allá unas cuantas horas hasta que fue el momento de volver a nuestro departamento. En el camino de regreso vimos otras bajadas y acercamientos a la playa, así que no pudimos evitar deternos un momento ahí: por suerte la familia de mi amiga tenía muchas ganas de explorar así que nos bajabamos de la camioneta a cada rato 😅.</em>

This viewpoint was called Punta Dorado and was one of the many panoramic viewpoints that the Golfo Nuevo has. From here you can see the entire curve of the beach, which we had visited a few moments before. There are those who do all this route by bicycle, walking through the different viewpoints. But I think that with the wind there, dragging you backwards all the time, you have to be very brave to face the whole path. In total there are about 95 km to get from Puerto Madryn to Puerto Pirámides, the next town in this area. Could you pedal all those kilometers? 😃

Pero pienso que con el viento que hay, arrastrándote hacia atrás todo el tiempo, hay que ser muy valiente para enfrentar el camino completo. From there we were also able to see some whales in the distance, although I didn't have a super camera to capture them so you'll have to believe me. We sat there for a long time, drinking mate (as always). Could it be that we Argentines always want to be drinking mate in some beautiful place like this? Sure we do, and it's worth taking the container with hot water everywhere 😅.

The whole trip to Puerto Madryn and surroundings was beautiful, we got to see a lot of great places and we never got tired of seeing the sea. These types of walks are the ones that bring peace and the desire to continue with the routine once we are back home, like now. Seeing all these photos and thinking that my eyes saw these landscapes live and direct is one of the best rewards I have in my life. And I continue working to continue traveling through my country that I love ❤️.
