You have been chosen to become an oracle in ancient Greece. Your mother and her mother before her were oracles as well, consulting the gods and relaying their wishes to heroes and others across the years. But there is one problem: You have never heard a word from the gods. Regardless, you pretend you do, and the next couple of weeks go relatively smoothly, although you do feel guilty for giving false advice to those few unlucky heroes. But when a kind, young woman in a hooded cloak arrives, seeking guidance from you specifically, you confess. You tell her not to heed your advice, for you cannot commune with the gods. You beg her not to tell anyone else. She smiles, removing her hood. Something inside of you tells you that this is the Goddess Athena. You fall to your knees, and she shakes her head, thanking you for your honesty. She requests you come with her. In shock, you agree and, with a simple touch of her hand, you are transported to the halls of Olympus, where you train with Athena and learn that the names of each god are titles passed down through many people. You are to become the next one. Snippets of older gods are shown, and you learn that their godhood doesn't only cater to Greek gods; gods of other worlds were once passed down to the of the oracle. Now, upon the death of the current Oracle of Heroes, you are the final one. Your task is clear: before your death, you are to train a new Oracle of Heroes. This would be difficult enough on its own, but you have only three weeks before you die of old age from the changes you have gone through in your 100 years of life thatYou are also tasked with speaking with Zeus to inform him about his godly heritage.
What do you want to do?:
Here's the funny part. There was only one thing on our schedule. We had just become Legends of the Hidden Temple, and this was our last chance to do something cool (although the five of us went back to it and the idea of it has been hanging around). So I have to date some of the people, and it got kind of ugly. I wish that I could post the whole thing, but there is some bad stuff in it, so I'll spare you. This was our list:
And we only had four times a week with our school counselors, so we had to cram it into three. So while I cried a little, racked my brain, and gave my friends advice, I couldn't tell them everything. So again, it was very, very difficult.
"Andrew," said Olivia, as she looked at the list.
"Anyone can play a game..." said Chanel, as she looked at the list.
"...and so can anyone play a game. But not everyone can play games." said Holden. I was watching them, looking at the list. They were right, I thought. You can only trust a friend as much as they trust you. I took the pens and crossed out a few people. If they can't give me that much trust, I can't give them that much trust. I looked up.
"I don't know who I'm going to give these too."
"Well you have all week. Maybe the first few people you see, or the last few people you see," said Olivia.
I crossed out a couple more. Then I looked back up at them.
"Or you might just look at the list. Maybe, who knows, you might just cross out every name on that list.
