LBI is a project that is joined at the hip with Leofinance.  The entire premise of the project is to develop our holdings related to this [ecosystem](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-ecosystem-digital) and ride the wave of growth to profitability.

Naturally, the [bear market](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-bear-market) has put a damper on everything cryptocurrency.  Hell, the entire [digital asset](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-digital-assets) space is like a scene from the film series *Halloween*.  It is like Michael Myers came through with his knife and hacked up all to pieces.

That said, the strong still persevere.  We are looking long term and that is what LBI is about.  We are targeted a 20% average growth rate per year.  Some years will see this number exceeded while others will be a challenge.  The last year has been a bit of the latter.

We cannot outline what [markets](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-market) will do.  They are their own beast.  Nevertheless, whichever direction they head in, we just keep building.  Growing the holdings of LBI is crucial.  We realize that when the bear turns into the [bull](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-bull-market), more [assets](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-asset) means greater outsized [returns](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-return-on-investment-roi).

Perhaps we might be receiving a bump over the next week.  The [price](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-price) action might not buy into what is about to happen yet, perhaps, the fundamental story will change.

There are two big announcements coming up that could alter things on Leofinance.

## LeoGrowth

The first comes on February 10th.  This is an announcement by the LeoGrowth team.  It is headed up by @anomadsoul who is responsible for [business](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-business) development relating to Leofinance.

On the most recent AMA, Khal talked about the announcement, mentioning it had something to do with marketing.  He provided no details so we are all left to speculate.  However, he did claim that this could double the monthly users of [Leofinance](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-what-is-leofinance) in a short period of time.

There was also the idea that those who are fans of marketing along with the ins and outs of it would enjoy what is about to be released.

Again, we have no idea what it is.  That said, how can we get upset about something related to marketed that, obviously, has the intention of increasing the number of Leo users.  This is what we all want.  Anyone who followed any aspect of the digital world understands the value of the [network effect](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-network-effect).  If Leofinance can help to start this, it would really go a long way to helping our holdings.

## New User Interface (UI)

This is something Khal teased about over the past couple months.  The UI is getting an update and we now have a release.  It will occur on February 14th.  

While this is still only a few screenshots to most people, the stated goal is to bring LeoThreads to the forefront.  It is evidently going to be focused upon [microblogging](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-microblogging), means people who land on Leofinance are going to be met with that feature.

We all know how popular [Twitter](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-twitter) is.  The reality is most people are not 750 words article writers.  The Internet is full of ideas espoused in a couple hundred characters.

One thing about the release: it is open alpha meaning a few of the features will be released at a time.  The idea is to get feedback on specific functionality before adding more.  We might see the UI upgraded and smoothed out over the next couple months after more people are using it.

The goal with [LeoThreads](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-leothreads) is to grow Leofinance to 5,000 monthly users.  This would be a 10x of the present user base.

## Diamond Paws

We do not hear much of this during the bear market.  However, we have our [LEO](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-leo) safely stacked away and are doing all we can to grow it.  It is hard to say if either of these moves will have a major impact upon the token itself, at least in the near term.

What we do know is that as people get more active with any project, if dedicated, they want to stack up on the token.  This is natural.  Leofinance should realize the same outcome.  The challenge is going to be to pull enough people to the site.

If that is accomplished, we could see the demand for the [token](https://leofinance.io/@leoglossary/leoglossary-token) advance higher.  It is already tightly held and will not require much to get it to take off. 

LBI is in this for the long haul.  By building our stake, we see to really profit when the market shoots prices higher.

In the meantime, we watch the development to see where things are going.  It takes a while to build a business and LBI is patient.
