When we relaunched LBI with an income distribution, and weekly dividends, you could be forgiven for thinking the focus was purely on income.  However, that is not the case, as this post will show.  I thought it would be good to look at all the asset growth that has been built in to the LBI token in its current form.

# LBI's growth numbers.

First up, we have our HIVE Power (HP) balance.  We hold HP in two wallets - @lbi-token and @lbi-eds.  Combined, we have very close on 28,000 HP total.  This gives us our first growth source, passive HP inflation.  HP grows automatically at close to 3% per annum (2.89% to be exact).  This gives us a nice easy 15.5 HP growth per week.

Next, we earn posting rewards, half of which are in the form of HP.  Add to that curation, and we have our second source of growth.  Obviously this is less predictable, and post payouts can vary greatly from one week to the next.  But overall, we can bank with some degree of certainty on around 30 minimum between curation and posting.  Some weeks are much better, but that is a good ballpark minimum.

Next we come to our EDS wallet.  The HP I've already accounted for above.  The reliable growth here is from minting EDSI tokens.  We earn from delegating the HP, and from mining via a decent amount of EDSMM tokens.  We make a fairly predictable 23-25 EDSI per week.  I have these valued simply at 1 HIVE each on our books, even though they usually trade well above that level.

Our DAB wallet has two levels of growth in it.  RUG mints DBOND each week.  The yield has fluctuated dramatically from week to week.  A minimum we earn each week would be 30 DBONDS worth 30 HIVE.  Next we mint DAB from our DBONDS.  Our average each week would be around 9 DAB currently.  Again, these could be sold higher, but are on our books for 1 HIVE each.

Our PWR wallet grows steadily also.  Each day, between our HP delegation, our staked PWR and our LP position, we earn a minimum of 3 PWR per day.  Again, PWR is valued at 1 HIVE each, so this wallet grows at 21 HIVE value per week.

We also have delegations to @brofi and @gifufaithful which earn tokens each day.  The gifu one is pretty new, and has been impacted by the Hive Engine issues we have seen.  But we can see it yields 10% APR, so it should bring in around 4 HIVE value per week.  With the BRO delegation, we are making around 1 BRO per week.  It's value fluctuates but its been trading around 5 HIVE per BRO.  So, combined these delegations add around 9 HIVE per week in growth.

Lastly, 40% of the income we generate is returned to the @lbi-token wallet to be re-invested into whatever we want.  Obviously the price of LEO has an impact on this.  When LEO was higher, we were having around 50 - 60 HIVE to play with, currently it is down around 25 HIVE after the conversion.  But this is another built in growth, and I'd say a minimum of 25 HIVE value per week is a fair estimate.

So, from the above you can see that the LBI asset base has a built in 162.5 HIVE value of growth built in every week.  Now, the value of this can fluctuate of course, and movements in prices can make it look like this growth isn't happening - but it is there, baked into the plan.  This works out to 8,450 over a year - minimum.

Given our current asset base is worth 78000 HIVE, this means we have a built in growth in assets of 10.8%.  This does not account for compounding and is a ballpark minimum number.

So there you have it, LBI has reliably built into its structure 162.5 HIVE in asset growth per week. This does not necessarily flow through to the HIVE value of the fund, as tokens like HBD and LEO can change significantly in HIVE value hiding this growth away.  But it is there, and will be noticeable over time.
