Todo el mundo espera que un partido de la liga de campeones esté lleno de goles, especialmente cuando un equipo muy bueno se enfrenta a otro que no lo es tanto. Ayer terminó la primera semana de partidos de la liga de campeones y todos podemos estar de acuerdo en que la competición es cada vez más competitiva, y parece que ya no hay equipos inferiores.
Con 16 partidos disputados en los 8 grupos, la mayoría de los resultados fueron tan sorprendentes para algunos equipos como para algunos aficionados. Para empezar, hablemos del más reciente, el partido entre el Club Brujas y el PSG. El partido terminó con un empate a uno y, a pesar de los talentos de los que dispone el entrenador Poch, no pudo hacer mucho para impulsar eficazmente a su equipo hasta la línea de meta.
Una delantera que potenciaba un tridente formado por Messi, Neymar y Mbappe no pudo doblegar a su rival y a pesar de contar con un gol tempranero del hombre en forma "Herrera". El partido incluso fue de mal en peor ya que no sólo el PSG no pudo ganar el partido, sino que Mbappe se lesionó y Messi recibió una tarjeta amarilla que resume su frustración de la noche.

La otra sorpresa fue el partido entre el Manchester United y los jóvenes, ya que los Diablos Rojos fueron sorprendidos por su anfitrión. Ronaldo adelantó al United con un gol bien ejecutado tras un magnífico centro de Bruno, pero una mala decisión de Aaron Wan Bisaka arruinó todo el buen trabajo y puso a los rojos en una posición muy difícil durante el resto del partido.
El equipo Young Boy aprovechó la ventaja numérica en la segunda parte y consiguió un gol a los 25 minutos del descanso. Por si fuera poco, Ole hizo algunos malos cambios, ya que retiró a Ronaldo y a Bruno y dio entrada a Lingard. Lingard fue, por desgracia, el jugador que jugó con el balón hacia las piernas de los rivales dejando a De Gea sin posibilidad de parar el mal de la red. La derrota del United fue un shock, pero también fue una prueba de lo difícil que será la liga de campeones esta temporada.
Aunque el Chelsea consiguió su victoria en el primer partido gracias a un gol de cabeza de Lukaku tras un centro de Azil, no fue en absoluto una victoria fácil. El Zenith hizo sangrar al Chelsea por esa victoria, ya que le puso las cosas muy difíciles a los blues y les hizo esperar hasta después del minuto 70 antes de filtrar un gol. Aunque el Zenith no causó muchos problemas al Chelsea, nadie esperaba que el partido fuera tan difícil contra un rival como el Zenith.

El resultado más impactante de la noche será el marcador con el que el Ajax triunfó sobre el Sporting CP justo delante de los aficionados del Sporting CP. Mientras que el Ajax marcó cinco goles, Haller, un hombre rechazado y cedido por el Westham, marcó cuatro de los cinco goles en su primera aparición en la Liga de Campeones. El marcador fue de lo más llamativo, y el partido sigue pareciendo increíble por la derrota del Sporting.
El regreso de Antonio Griezmann al Atlético de Madrid no pudo espolear la victoria contra el Oporto. Si bien el Atlético de Madrid es mejor que este Oporto desde el punto de vista técnico y económico, ambos equipos fueron demasiado diferentes, ya que sus partidos terminaron con un empate sin goles. El Oporto ha continuado desde donde lo dejó la temporada pasada y conseguir un punto en el ATM podría sorprender a los aficionados y a las mentes futbolísticas.

Everyone expects a champion’s league match to be filled with goals especially when a very good side meets with a team not that good. The reverse has been the case as the first game week of the champions league ended yesterday and we can all agree that the competition is becoming even more competitive, and they seem to be no underdogs anymore.
With 16 matches played across the 8 groups, most results were as shocking to some teams as well as some fans. To start with, let’s talk about the most recent is the game between Club Brugge and PSG. The match ended in a 1-1 draw and despite the talents at Coach Poch disposal, he could do little to effective push his team to the finish line.
A front line boosting a trident consisting of Messi, Neymar and Mbappe couldn’t break their opponent and despite having an early goal thorough man in form “Herrera”. The match even went bad to worse as not only could PSG not win the match, Mbappe got injured and Messi was yellow carded and that sums up their frustration of the night.

The other shocker was the match between Manchester United and young boys as the Red Devils were stunned by their host. Ronaldo put united in front with a well-taken goal from a Bruno superb cross but a bad decision from Aaron Wan Bisaka ruined all the good work and put the reds in a very difficult position for the rest of the match.
Young Boy team capitalised on the numerical advantage in the second half and got a goal 25 minutes into the half. As if that wasn’t bad enough, Ole made some bad changes as he removed both Ronaldo and Bruno while bringing in Lingard. Lingard was unfortunately the player who played the ball away into the legs of the opponents leaving De Gea with no chance of stopping the bad from hitting the net. United losing was a shock, but it was also a testament to how difficult the champions league will be this season.
Although Chelsea got their win in the opening match through a headed goal by Lukaku from Azil cross, it was by no means an easy victory. Zenith made Chelsea bleed for that win as they made things very difficult for the blues and made them wait till after the 70th minute before they leaked a goal. Although Zenith didn’t cause Chelsea much trouble but no one expected the match to be that hard against an opponent such as Zenith.

The most shocking result of the night will be the scoreline with which Ajax triumph over Sporting CP right in front of Sporting CP fans. While Ajax scored five goals, Haller; a man rejected and loaned out by Westham scored four of the five goals in his first champions league appearance ever. The scoreline was mouth-watering, and the game still seems unbelievable due to Sporting losing.
The return of Antonio Griezmann to Athletico Madrid could not spur them to victory against Porto. While Athletico Madrid might be better than this Porto side technically and financially, they were a little too different for both teams as their games ended in a goalless draw statement. Porto has continued from where they left it last season and getting a point at ATM might shock fans and football minds alike.
