# Día del Escritor en Venezuela.

Hoy es *Día del escritor*
en mi país tan querido
por hecho de haber nacido
una pluma de  destello
a la que se rinde honor
y su nombre es  Andrés Bello.

Hoy se  celebra en  Venezuela  *El Día del Escritor* con motivo del natalicio de  uno de los  más  grandes  escritores  venezolanos, el glorioso  Andrés  Bello, hecho ocurrido el 29 de  noviembre  de  1781, hace 241  años.

Don Andrés  Bello  fue  maestro  de  Simón Bolívar  nuestro  Libertador, además  de  ser  figura  importantísima  en la  independencia  de  Venezuela, y también fue  un insigne poeta  de  cuya  obra  se  puede  mencionar:  *Silva a la Agricultura de la Zona Tórrida*, *Alocución a la Poesía* y *La Oración por Todos* donde  se  aprecia  su calidad como poeta  y como ser  humano.

*Gramática  de la Lengua  Castellna* es  una  obra  interesante  de  este  autor, e igualmente  destacó con las  obras   *Temas  Jurídicos y Sociales*, *Filosofía del Entendimiento y otros Escritos Filosóficos*.

De  Andrés  se  ha  dicho  bastante, y es  uno de los  veezolanos de mayor  reputación  en todos los tiempos, y su  nombre lleva  bibliotecas, escuelas  y otras  instituciones del país.

Hoy se puede  recordar  a  grandes  escritores  como lo fueron Rómulo Gallegos, Miguel Otero Silva, Arturo Uslar Pietri, Teresa  de la Parra, Andrés Eloy Blanco o Aquiles  Nazoa, entre  tantos  talentos  de las  letras nacionales.

and his name is Andrés Bello.

Today is celebrated in Venezuela Writer's Day on the occasion of the birth of one of the greatest Venezuelan writers, the glorious Andrés Bello, an event that occurred on November 29, 1781, 241 years ago.

Don Andrés Bello was the teacher of Simón Bolívar our Liberator, in addition to being a very important figure in the independence of Venezuela, and he was also a distinguished poet whose work can be mentioned: *Silva a la Agricultura de la Zona Tórrida*, *Alocution a la Poetry* and *The  Prayer for All* where his quality as a poet and as a human being is appreciated.

*Grammar of the Spanish Language* is an interesting work by this author, and he also stood out with the works Legal and Social Themes, Philosophy of Understanding and other Philosophical Writings.

Much has been said about Andrés, and he is one of the most reputable Venezuelans of all time, and libraries, schools, and other institutions in the country bear his name.
