It's official! As I announced in the AMA yesterday, we've been working on integrating Delegation Tiers to @leo.voter. We built a UI to help you manage your delegation tier and added it to the Dashboard of the INLEO UI.

Right now, the Dashboard is in early access beta mode on our [Labs](https://labs.inleo.io) UI. 

In this post, we'll explore the new Delegation tiers and how they work along with how to use the dashboard to change your tier at any time. 

## Delegation Tiers

There are now 3 Delegation Tiers:
1. The base APR of ~13%, paid as liquid LEO daily to your account
2. 20% APR, paid as staked LEO daily to your account
3. 22% APR, paid as staked LEO daily to your account

Tier 1 is for anyone who simply delegates HIVE POWER to @leo.voter. There are no other rules, stipulations or requirements beyond that. If you delegate, you earn 13% paid daily as liquid LEO Tokens. 

Tier 2 and 3 is where we get to the fun part.

Let's start with Tier 2.

**Tier 2** can be accessed by going to the Dashboard and selecting "Switch to Staked". When you click this button, you'll be prompted to send a 0.001 HIVE transaction to @leo.voter with the memo "staked". 

After sending this memo, your Tier will be updated (keep in mind - as the disclaimer at the bottom of the page says - it can take up to 1 hour for the Dashboard UI to reflect your new APR after making the change).

When you select Tier 2, you'll be receiving your LEO payouts daily but as **staked** LEO instead of liquid LEO. Since you're receiving staked LEO, your APR yield is 7% higher than anyone who is receiving liquid LEO.

**Tier 3** can be accessed by doing the same process as Tier 2. The only difference is that if you are a [Premium](https://inleo.io/premium) user who has also chosen to receive their payouts as staked LEO, you'll get 22% APR. You need to keep up with your Premium subscription renewals each month in order to receive this tier. If you stop Premium at any time, then you'll drop back down to Tier 2 and earn the 20% APR.

## HODL Mode

Edicted coined this term and I decided that I liked it. There is one other stipulation to the Tier 2 and Tier 3 levels: if you are powering down LEO, then your tier will drop back down to Tier 1. 

The rules are similar to LPUD. Our API will read your account and if you have powered down LEO in the last 3 months, you won't be eligible for Tier 2 or Tier 3.

This is to encourage long-term staking of LEO. AKA **HODL MODE**.

If your account is in HODL Mode, then you'll be receiving Tier 2 and Tier 3 Rewards. 

You can, for example, choose staked and receive Tier 2 and 3 rewards for 6 months, then decide you want to power down. That's total fine and allowed, but the day you start that powerdown, your Tier will go back to Tier 1. 

## How to Delegate and Earn Up to 22% APR

These changes are all officially live now.

1. To earn up to 22% APR on your HIVE POWER, simply delegate HP to @leo.voter
2. After delegating, you'll immediately be placed into Tier 1. To change your Tier, go to the INLEO Dashboard and scroll all the way to the bottom of the page
3. To access the Dashboard, visit https://labs.inleo.io/dashboard (if you keep getting redirected to the homepage, login with your Hive account on the homepage, and then go back to the Dashboard link. You must be signed in to view it)
4. Scroll to the bottom and choose "Staked" 
5. After choosing staked, it will take up to 1 hour for the UI to reflect the changes. You'll be placed into Tier 2
6. To get to Tier 3 and earn 22% APR, then go to the "Premium" page (https://labs.inleo.io/premium) and subscribe to Premium


LEO is paid daily to delegators at approximately 6PM EST every single day. If you are Tier 1, then you will receive liquid LEO airdropped to your account each day at this time. 

If you are Tier 2 or 3, then you will receive staked LEO airdropped to your account each day at this time. 

## Why Are We Doing This?

There are a couple of driving reasons behind doing this. Namely - growing the LEO Community's stake of HIVE POWER, growing Premium subscriptions and increasing the activity of our userbase.

Having more HIVE POWER on @leo.voter (currently 2.4M) allows us to reward users with more upvotes. This allows us to encourage more positive activities on the platform - like creating quality blog posts, subscribing to Premium, creating Threads... overall - being more active. 

The main question I've seen so far is "Is this sustainable?"

HIVE POWER curation earns ~10% APR on its own. So how are we making up the extra 10-12% for Tier 2 & 3 delegators? 

This comes down to value capture. Assuming the 10% baseline means we need to capture an additional 10-12% in value from the "other" impacts of having more HIVE POWER:
1. More Premium subscribers
2. More Bloggers on the UI 
3. More Threaders on the UI 
4. More Ad Revenue
5. More Beneficiary Rewards
6. More LEO Lions having more HIVE POWER

These are 6 ways we can capture value in the "Other" category. Can these 5 make up for an additional 10-12% in value? We've run the numbers and believe that they can, which is why we're trying these tiers out. Keep in mind that we reserve the right to change these tiers. We will give ample notice (perhaps 30 days notice) of any changes we decide to make. For the foreseeable future, this is how tiers will work on INLEO.
