We've been working extremely hard on this communities update. Actually, the original idea for Communities started as something called "Community Pages".

We launched the Community Pages feature on the old UI. It turned out to be somewhat of a flop. There were a lot of issues and errors. We loved the idea but we needed to build the infrastructure differently. 

Rather than spend a lot of time trying to fix what we built there, we decided to wait and go back to the drawing board once the new UI was ready.

6 weeks after the new UI going live on May 1st, 2023, we now have Community Pages back online!

But in the spirit of **The Everything App**, things have changed... quite a lot. 

## The Everything App for Every Community on Hive

So in this first part, let's talk about how every community on Hive can now start using LeoFinance.

LeoFinance began as a long-form blogging website for crypto/finance content.

Our vision has evolved as we opened up new avenues. Our vision is to become The Everything App for Web3 communities.

No matter what your community talks about, you can talk about it on Leo.

But why LeoFinance? Well, perhaps the Finance part of that name will get dropped soon and LeoFinance will live as a community page under the LEO banner.

Still the same LEO, but with a whole new twist.

Our goal is to open up the platform. Bring in a whole new generation of Web3 users. 

We want to build Hive into a multi-million monthly active user platform. We believe we can achieve this through our Everything App.

## Threads on Communities

As it stands, this is how Community Pages look. They are based on the base-layer Hive protocol for Communities so you can find any of your favorite communities on Hive on https://leofinance.io/communities

Right now, the feature set is rather minimal. It's nearly the same as other Hive UIs. 

We're working on the next round of updates along with a number of bug fixes for various parts of the Communities features. 

## Primitive Beta

This is an early stage beta on Communities but we're going to make rapid improvements to them. 

The long-form on LeoFinance is about to take a whole new shape. New feeds, new algorithms. A new Curated page. 

Communities will also get their own Threads feed.

So if you run a Hive community or are a member of one and wish they had their own UI and feed for Threads... you're about to get them.

Threads will be available to all Hive communities. Moderators will be able to show and hide threads from the UI as well as long-form content.

## The Vision

The vision here is to open the LeoVerse to every existing Community on Hive.

But it goes beyond that.... the bigger idea is to start leveraging the 50 partnership deals that we have made with **non-Hive Communities**.

Our mission? To create them their own Hive community directly from Leofinance. They can then bring their community members over to LeoFinance and use the Communities tab to build up their community page.

Much like a subreddit. All from LeoFinance's UI.

Their community will have Threads and Long-Form content. Moderators and a whole lot more.

We believe Communities will become one of the mainstays for segmenting content and building your Web3 community.

Our aim is to make it the #1 place for any crypto project to build and grow their community. 

Go ahead and give Communities a try! Keep in mind that these were just released and require a lot of attention for bug fixes.

If you spot any bugs, please report them.
If the UI loads slowly, please be patient.

We're working hard to get the full release out and all of the bugs fixed as we start to onboard our partners from outside of Hive into their own Hive Communities 🚀
