Although, if you are using sign language, perhaps more. I chose the dark paper for this drawing because it seemed to match a pensive moment of thought or reflection. Either way, something is about to happen, after the thought process is finished.</p> <p>That's the trick isn't it, following through decisively on our conclusions. But often we stay taking action for fear of the consequences. How liberating it is when we act. It does not mean that painful consequences are mitigated, but often, in the long run, we save ourselves much time and energy.</p> <p>I had read, that our decision making processes are mostly a delaying tactic because, when tested, we usually make our decisions based upon emotion. We are not the rational beings we think we are. The angst of decision making and action taking arises from us attempting to rationalise for or against the emotive impulse. We are hardwired to action in an instant, as for our ancient ancestors, it made the difference between being prey or being the predator.</p> <p>These instincts we still have, do not really fit that well into the large complex societies that we live in today. Therefor we seek outlets for them in sports, computer games and the like. We attempt to keep the beast tamed and trained. We are then shocked we ourselves or others lose control when under stress, and then react from a place of fear.</p> <p>What if, we practised more acting from that authentic place of self, that one that has already made the decision? Your art is great Leo, hands are definitely a communication element, you have captured them so well here! I agree with your arguement that we have, as a society, tamed and trained ourselves. It seems the older I get, the more I see how we have lost so many things which make us human. It is by design, so many want us to be so far removed from the animal which we are. Getting to know that inane sense again is a lifetime quest, I believe. I also believe that we can get there faster by using mind enhancing natural elements which our ancestors knew would help us stay in touch with the animal inside. The government's of the world also know this to be true, this is why they make it illegal to use these things.

The self-made successful people of this world, usually are acting from this place of authenticity. Which means, they don't always follow the rules, whether they are laws, organisational codes, social or family expectations. Yes, mind enhancing natural elements can assist, but there are still many conditions that have to met for one's potential to be unlocked through this option - set and setting. Although, as a whole we maybe the most far removed from our true selves that we have ever been, I am seeing a growing trend of people investigating, learning and implementing old ways of doing things. Holding our breath, or worrying about which direction the rest of humanity is heading, will get us no where fast. As the saying goes, if you want to change the world, change yourself.
