Despite the differences between countries or public and private institutions, education tends to be organized basically in the same way. With different materials and a similar method.

While it has been known to be an effective way to maintain chaos and help teachers to organize their days, science ensures that in this way you can not access a study method that helps you learn faster.

### A useful method

The research suggests that if we want the study material to stay in our brain, the best way to study is what is known as "distributed practice".

To master a new concept, the study suggests that it is best to study intensively for a short period of time, then take a break and return to a short intense period.

Apparently, the brief but intense bursts of learning during a lapse help to keep the concepts better.

The professor of the University Kent, John Dunlosky (one of the people in charge of the study) maintains that the present techniques that the students use, like the rereading or the underlining of the important thing, have little benefits in the learning.

In the research, 10 different learning techniques used by students were analyzed. Each technique proved to have a different effectiveness, but two strategies: distributed practice and practice tests proved to be most useful.

Most students are more familiar with practice tests, using test tests from other years to review exercises or the use of memory cards, but the technique of distributed practice, which proved to be the most effective, was the least known .

### An ignored technique

Science suggests that this is one of the best ways to study, but the truth is that it does not fit into the usual ways in which school days are planned.

These types of learning strategies are often overlooked in educational psychology textbooks, so teachers do not have an idea of how to apply them.

But no matter how much institutions do not apply this method, we can apply it in our homes, helping us with the technique to incorporate and process the concepts better.

We should definitely start paying attention to what science has to tell us about the most effective learning, do not you think? What study technique do you use?
