Greetings readers!
I had a lot of time to pull ahead in my writing. I should have several weeks' worth of updates for all of you, including some of Fell Dragon Kay's past and how she became the Dragon that she was.
Also, my previous keyboard decided it was going to start squeaking. It was promptly dumped for a mechanical keyboard and wow! I love it! Enjoy the update.

Bolx’s body burned as he pulled himself into a seated position. His wounds ached and the urge to vomit was strong. He had already soaked the linen with sweat and the burning in his throat reminded him that he needed something to drink before he became too dehydrated.
As if hearing his movements, the female twin stepped into the room. Bolx, for a moment in his fever-addled brain, almost thought it was Saita, but then he noticed there was no scar on her face. He searched his brain for her name. She had told him.
“Maxine.” She said as she touched her chest, unable to watch him struggle to remember her name.
“Aidan?” he asked.
“He’s resting.”
The woman put down the bowl she was carrying. Bolx was painfully aware of the heat coming from the water and could smell the disinfection coming from it. This was going to hurt.
“Water.” He muttered before waving Maxine’s attempt to remove his bandages.
The young woman blushed and left the room as quickly as she had arrived. A few minutes later, she came back carrying a jug of water and a glass. She poured the drink for Bolx and then set the jug down and handed him the glass.
Bolx drank deeply from the glass, trying the quell the nausea. It wasn’t abating. He turned to put the glass down and tried to get to his feet. He swayed and then pitched forward. Maxine instantly helped him upright, just in time to have her back splattered with vomit.
Before Bolx could mutter an apology, Maxine lay him down on the bed. Her face was unreadable, but Bolx knew that face. He had seen it so many times across two timelines, and he knew where to look for signs of concern. He gently pushed against her and swung his feet to the floor once more.
“Dad, please…” she whispered before catching herself.
*Dad.*
He had never been called dad. He had lost his daughter so young, all she had even called him was daddy, yet this still smarted and made his stomach turn. Tears came to his eyes, and he whispered.
“I left her alone to face that monster. I have to get back.”
“Da…” Maxine caught herself. She then pulled a nearby chair closer to sit close to the giant Saith. “You can’t, and you know it. I know it.”
“She needs me.”
“There is nothing you can do. Neither I nor my brother can travel through time and were brought here. You need to be well enough…” she paused again.
Bolx looked at her and saw that she was trying to avoid his gaze.
“Was I such a terrible father that you can’t look me in the eye?” he asked.
“No! It’s not that. Just, feeling guilty that I couldn’t do more.” She indicated that she needed his right arm.
Bolx hesitantly lifted his ruined arm. It had taken a few bites, but the Wolven had managed to eventually rip his arm from his body. However, what shocked him was that the band that Saita had given him a few days ago was gone.
Of course, it was gone, he chided himself. The Wolven had taken his right arm. That would be lying in his sister’s home now, rotting. Saita would know by now, and he had no idea how she would handle the situation.
The tears flowed as he squeezed his eyes closed. He couldn’t believe that he had once more been thrown across time and space, unable to help his love.
Maxine, feeling the same pain her father was, took the swollen and painful arm and started unwrapping the bindings. She knew the smell coming from the injury, it wasn’t anything new to her. She needed to clean this and see how much more needed to be removed to save the Saith’s life.
It took hours to clean the injuries, and several times the Saith had either been sick or had passed out, making her job more difficult. Once she was sure she had cleaned as much as she could, she called for her brother. At this stage, Bolx was staring at the ceiling. His tears had long since dried, and his stomach empty.
“His mental fortitude is beyond what I have ever seen in Saith or humans. He is dealing with the shock as well as he can, but I can do no more than what I have. You will need to continue.” She said in a low voice.
Martin nodded his head and took up the occupancy of the chair that his sister had been seated in. He hovered his hands over the Saith’s massive chest, freshly bandaged, and closed his eyes.
Bolx almost sat up in shock when he felt the healing energy enter his body. He hadn’t felt this since Kaidan’s time when her mother had set and healed a broken arm. Bolx looked up at the male twin and couldn’t help but smile. A Saith with healing energy was rare.
“It came from a lot of training with my human grandmother.” Said Martin as he opened his eyes. “Has the pain eased a little?”
Bolx nodded his head but added, “It isn’t doing much for the nausea.”
“I’m afraid I didn’t learn enough from the Sisters to manage that. Perhaps you should eat something.”
“I’ll heat some soup.” Said Maxine from the doorway.
Feeling significantly better, Bolx sat up and inspected his missing arm. Normally, this would have spelled the end of his career, but with prosthetics, he was sure he could use it once more. However, the flesh was severely damaged, and he didn’t know how much Martin could do to fix the damage the Wolven and Bolx had done to it.
“I can save some of the nerves, but I don’t know how much function you would get back with an integrated system with the infection.”
Bolx, feeling the weight of what was happening, slouched forward. Martin leaned back, hoping that this wasn’t another bout of vomiting that was heading his way. Instead, Bolx brought his damaged arm to his face.
“It’s not about the arm. Your mother proposed to me the day the Wolven took it. I was wearing my proposal gift.”
Martin sat forward and took Bolx’s arm. He poured as much concentration into the wound as he could. He pictured the different layers of skin, muscle, sinew, nerves, and bone. He had poured over medical journals since he was a child and understood anatomy as well as any doctor. He found sections of necrotic infection his sister couldn’t reach, and he burned it at an atomical level. He poured more energy into the wound. He needed to save what he could. Bolx needed to fight again. Their mother had told them that much.
The Mad Pack was coming, and Bolx’s strength would be needed.

The twins seem to know a lot about what Saita and her companions are going through, despite our Saita not having met these twins. I love playing around with time travel!
