WE111 - Did I get a chance have my Crush?

"Hey Lhes, did Jonh respond to your text?" My friend Cely asked me. It's been a week since I have been texting Jonh. Though he was slightly annoyed because I didn't reveal my identity, he still responded to my messages. 
I saw him one time while I was waiting for a ride going home. The moment I laid my eyes on him, I felt my heartbeats so fast. I was mesmerized by his tantalizing eyes. 
The tricycle stopped, and there was still two available space. I was in awe when he let me take a seat first before him. Such a gentleman. **Yet he said* " Ne ( means NENE - endearment for a young girl) you first,*
EH, what the? I may be a teenager, but I believe I am not a Nene. I'm already seventeen.

Since then, I have been so curious to know his whereabouts. I always find myself waiting for him at the terminal. Yes, I won't go home not until I see him. He is unaware of it, and I pretend not to be interested whenever he is around—just looking at him using my peripheral vision. 
Sometimes I got scolded by my Father for going home almost at twilight. It was John's fault. I waited for him that day, but he didn't arrive at the usual time.   
It was an ordinary afternoon, and I was with my schoolmate Ara going home. While waiting, Jonh arrived, and I was surprised when he approached her.
Later I learned that there were neighbors.
OMG, Ara, was indeed God sent!
Call me user friend, but I  befriend her, lol. I had learned that he was in his early twenties. There was a huge age gap, but I don't care. What more important was he was NOT in a relationship.
I was rejoicing with the thought and got my hope. Also, I got his cellphone number!

It took me a lot of courage before I could send a message asking, " Hi, can you be my Textmate?"

*Social media was not yet present during those times. A text message was the primary source of communication.*

That was the start of our conversation,  no matter how he asked for my real name. I didn't tell him.
I don't know what was on my mind as I even told him I had a massive crush on him! That if given a chance, I wanted to be his girlfriend.
I was like courting him through text.

Maybe the thought that he didn't know me in person was why I had a lot of courage to do so.

Yet as others always say, no secret is kept hidden for a lifetime. The usual scenario after my classes, I was again sitting on the shed at the terminal. I was waiting for my crush to have a glimpse. I didn't wait too long and saw Jonh step out from a public vehicle. As he was walking near me, I looked away. However, I felt him sit beside me, and what he said next almost gave me a heart attack.
"*Hey Lhes, or should I say Textmate?*."
I slowly turned around and finally dared to look at him. 
" *Don't ask how I found out. Ara told me. Nice meeting you in person*".

I felt so embarrassed, and that's the only time everything I did sink in my mind. 

Then suddenly I heard someone calling my name. I felt relieved when I saw my Mom, and she was riding in a car. She is calling me to hop in. So I took my things, ran as fast as possible, and never turned back. 

I just realized it was so impossible for me to have him. Aside from the age gap, it was I who approached him first, so I don't think our relationship, if ever, will be successful. I would feel insecure aside from having doubts.
