# Modern or Wild Format or Both? My First initial Test Evaluations

On Splinterlands the **season number 134** is underway and will end in about 3 days and 17 hours.

Since bots and battle helpers have been banned in Modern Format ranked battles I have switched from Wild Format to Modern Format because I enjoy playing on Splinterlands and I only like to play against real players like myself.

In addition to playing I also like to test and four days ago I decided, after many months, to doubled my gaming activity and **return to play in Wild Format** as well. 
My testing will last for a month and will be used to evaluate whether it is more convenient for me to put my Beta and Untamed cards for rent or is it more convenient to use them in Wild Format battles.

My main focus will still be on Modern Format but for a month I will play in both formats.

With @libertycrypto27 I am in the **Gold III** league of the **Modern Format** and my season goal is to finish the current season at least in the **Gold I** league.

To do my testing, four days ago, I delegated a good portion of my Beta and Untamed cards to my curation account for SPT tokens: @libertygame27

When I was playing in the Wild Format (many months ago) I was only able to reach the Diamond leagues during the last days of the season and was using a much stronger collection of cards than I delegated to my curation account.

For this reason **I was really surprised at the ease with which I reached the Diamond leagues in the Wild Format.**

In fact, with libertygame27 I started in the Novice league with a **rating = 0** and am now in the **Diamond I** league with a **rating = 3400**

After only **117 battles played** I have reached the **Diamond I** league and won 102 battles.

The **win rate difference** between libertycrypto27 and libertygame27 is really big: **47.86% vs 87.18%**

However, the rewards for battle victories are also very different.

In the **Modern Format** even though I play in the **Gold III** league and have a win rate = 47.86% I also have **85K SPS staked** and in my last battle win I gained:
- **+272 GLINTS**
- **+4.65 SPS**

I delegated **10k SPS** to libertygame27 who even though he plays in the **Diamond I** league of **Wild Format** earned in his last battle victory:
- **+155 GLINT**
- **+0.528 SPS**

I am glad I started this test because the game results and rewards already allow for some initial assessments and considerations.

The first consideration is that winning in the Wild Format is much easier than in the Modern Format which has only real players and is much more competitive and for my personal point of view is more fun.

In fact my card collection that I use in the **Modern Format** consists of **968 cards = 18724 BCX** and has a value of **1941$** and a **CP = 442970**
With this collection I am in the **Gold III** league of the Modern Format.

The card collection I used in the **Wild Format** consists of **152 cards = 2414 BCX** and has a value of **$786** and a **CP = 85480**

With this collection I started from the **Novice** league and am in the **Diamond I** league of the Wild Format.

In the coming days I will increase the delegation in SPS tokens for my account playing in the Wild Format.

Based on the results I have recorded so far it would seem that it would be more convenient for me to play in the Wild Format to accumulate more GLINT but it would be more convenient for me to continue playing in the Modern Format to accumulate more SPS.

Personally **I prefer SPSs more than GLINT tokens** so I will continue to play in the Modern Format but I don't want to draw any conclusions yet and I will evaluate the results of my test after a month has passed since the start of the test.

Before I conclude this post I want to share the completion of **two of my upgrade goals**.

Thanks to the BID purchase offers, I have upgraded **Infernal Firestorm: level 2 -> level 3**

After a month since I made my BID purchase offer, I was finally able to purchase **1 BCX of Mantaroh** at a cost of **$30.62**.

Considering that the lowest price of 1 BCX of Mantaroth on the market is $38 I am glad I made this purchase.

I would like to have maximum level Mantaroth in my collection but it has too high a cost so for now I am content with having level 1 Mantaroth that I have already used in some battles such as the battle you can see in the image below.

# I mie risultati stagionali parziali: Diamond I nel Wild Format e Gold II nel Modern Format

Su Splinterlands è in corso la **stagione numero 134** che terminerà tra circa 3 giorni e 17 ore.

Da quando i bots e i battle helpers sono stati vietati nelle ranked battles del Modern Format sono passato dal Wild Format al Modern Format perchè mi piace giocare su Splinterlands e mi piace giocare solo contro giocatori reali come me.

Oltre a giocare mi piace anche fare dei test e quattro giorni fa ho deciso, dopo tanti mesi, di raddoppiare la mia attività di gioco e **ritornare a giocare anche nel Wild Format**. 
Il mio test durerà un mese e mi servirà per valutare se è più conveniente per me mettere a noleggio le mie carte Beta e Untamed oppure è più conveniente utilizzarle nelle battaglie del Wild Format.

Il mio focus principale sarà comunque sempre sul Modern Format ma per un mese giocherò in entrambi i formati.

Con @libertycrypto27 sono nella lega **Gold III** del **Modern Format** e il mio obiettivo stagionale è terminare la stagione in corso almeno in lega **Gold I**.

Per fare il mio test, quattro giorni fa, ho delegato una buona parte delle mie carte Beta e Untamed al mio curation account per i token SPT: @libertygame27

Quando molti mesi fa giocavo nel Wild Format riuscivo a raggiungere le leghe Diamond solo durante gli ultimi giorni della stagione e utilizzavo una collezione di carte molto più forte di quella che ho delegato al mio curation account.

**Sono rimasto davvero sorpreso della facilità con cui ho raggiunto le leghe Diamond nel Wild Format.**

Infatti con libertygame27 sono partito dalla lega Novice con un punteggio di **rating = 0** e adesso sono in lega **Diamond I** con un punteggio di **rating = 3400**

Dopo solo **117 battaglie giocate** ho raggiunto la **lega Diamond I** e ho vinto 102 battaglie.

La **differenza di win rate** tra libertycrypto27 e libertygame27 è davvero grande: **47.86% vs 87.18%**

Sono però molto diverse anche le ricompense per le vittorie in battaglia.

Nel **Modern Format** anche se gioco nella lega **Gold III** e ho un win rate = 47.86% ho anche **85K SPS staked** e nella mia ultima vittoria in battaglia ho guadagnato:
- **+272 GLINT**
- **+4.652 SPS**

Sono contento di aver iniziato questo test perchè i risultati di gioco e le ricompense permettono già di fare alcune iniziali valutazioni e considerazioni.

La prima considerazione è che vincere nel Wild Format è molto più facile rispetto al Modern Format che ha solo giocatori reali ed è molto più competitivo e per il mio personale punto di vista è più divertente.

Nei prossimi giorni aumenterò la delega in token SPS per il mio account che gioca nel Wild Format.

In base ai risultati che ho registrato fino ad ora sembrerebbe che sarebbe più conveniente per me giocare nel Wild Format per accumulare un maggiore numero di GLINT ma sarebbe più conveniente per me continuare a giocare nel Modern Format per accumulare un maggiore numero di SPS.

Personalmente **preferisco più gli SPS che i token GLINT** e quindi continuerò a giocare nel Modern Format ma non voglio ancora trarre conclusioni e valuterò i risultati del mio test dopo che sarà passato un mese dall'inizio del test.

Prima di concludere questo post voglio condividere il completamento di **due miei obiettivi di upgrade**.

Grazie alle offerte di acquisto BID ho fatto l'upgrade di **Infernal Firestorm: level 2 -> level 3**

Dopo un mese da quando ho fatto la mia offerta di acquisto BID sono riuscito finalmente ad acquistare **1 BCX di Mantaroh** al costo di **30.62$**.

Considerato che il prezzo più basso di 1 BCX di Mantaroth sul mercato è 38$ sono contento di aver fatto questo acquisto.

Mi piacerebbe avere Mantaroth di livello massimo nella mia collezione ma ha un costo troppo alto e quindi per il momento mi accontento di avere Mantaroth di livello 1 che ho già utilizzato in alcune battaglie come ad esempio la battaglia che puoi vedere nell'immagine seguente.

Davvero sono rimasto impressionato dalla facilità di avanzamento nel wild e penso che ci siano tanti accounts che usano bots forti ma con poche carte... devo continuare il test ma bilanciando e delegando una certa quantità di SPS all'account con cui gioco nel wild potrei aumentare il mio guadagno in SPS rispetto al giocare solo nel Modern ;)

This is a very good test. I actually prefer SPS more than glint just like you, it's better to play in modern, even with the lesser 47% win rate and more money to go far and climb the ranks, it's better. However, you eventually need more SPS and more ownership of cards to actually win more. Maybe at the end of the month, we get to truly see the results of your experiment

Io fatico tantissimo nel Modern format, quindi sto cercando di accumulare più HBD possibili per poi convertirli in DEC  ed iniziare a comprarmi carte del Modern Format. Attualmente mi cimento in entrambi i format, ma i risultati che ho nel Modern sono ridicoli paragonati a quelli che ottengo nel Wild format

Considera che però è molto più premiante lato SPS ma questo vale ovviamente solo entro un range di leghe di differenza tra i due formati...
