# My research on @gladiadorr's Contest in the Olio di Balena community

Today I was planning to write a post about one of the Hive games I play but then **I received a message on Discord from a respected member of the Olio di Balena community who asked me to check the contest organized by @gladiadorr on Olio di Balena** because according to him there were suspicions that @gladiadorr (creator of the contest) and @elkaos (contest participant) were the same person.

Whereas, **on Hive it is absolutely possible and permissible to have multiple accounts**.
**What is not well seen is**:
- **circle voting** = self-voting with multiple accounts
- Gaining advantages by **participating with multiple accounts in contests**

@gladiadorr is a very active user in posting content on Olio di Balena community and his content is interesting and covers various topics.

Starting on **January 16, 2025**, gladiadorr **began posting contests** in the Olio di Balena community.

The contest distributes up to three prizes to those who answer a question correctly:
1.- Winner: 1 HIVE
2.- Winner: 0.5 HIVE
3.- Winner: 0.1 HIVE 

Looking at gladiadorr's wallet transactions there is often a recurring winner: @elkaos

Out of 17 contests @elkaos won 15 prizes:
- won first prize 8 times
- won the second prize 5 times
- won the third prize 2 times

# My initial research and @gladiadorr's answers.

I love Hive and I love the Olio di Balena community in which I am a moderator and I felt compelled to do some research.

The first research I did was to check the interactions between the @gladiadorr and @elkaos accounts through the tool: https://eroche.shinyapps.io/HiveEngagement/

It seemed a bit strange to me that the interaction between the two accounts was happening in a fairly small time range and this thing was repeated over time.

Therefore, I asked @gladiadorr and @elkaos for explanations via comments.

gladiadorr replied to me that he does not know elkaos and that he met him only through his contest

gladiadorr also did some research of his own on elkaos and banned him from his contest because he found out that @elkaos is the same account behind @apoloo1 and therefore took advantage of him
gladiadorr reiterated that he only knows him because he participated in his contest.

To check whether @gladiadorr and @elkaos are the same person, I looked at the structure of their posts and found some similarities but they do not prove that they are the same person.

The structures of the posts are similar and in my opinion it is particularly suspicious that the images have the same name Screenshot_x.png but it could be a coincidence.

Between elkaos and gladiadorr I found no transactions in HIVE or HBD and no use of the same memo that could connect them to the same account.

Looking at the transactions on Hive Engine I noticed that @elkaos is probably (not sure) the same person as @apoloo1 (as gladiadorr also researched) and @thranax because there are many Hive Engine token transactions between these accounts.

But on this point there is no problem because multiaccounts on Hive is allowed.

There is, however, a common behavior between gladiadorr and elkaos and apoloo1

All of these accounts like to do transactions involving SWAP.HIVE and SWAP.BTC and SWAP.LTC

At this point the questions to be answered are:

- **Why did @gladiadorr receive 0.70 SWAP.HIVE from @elkaos on Dec. 31, 2024 if he wrote that he knew him (gladiadorr [here](https://peakd.com/hive-146620/@gladiadorr/ssvpo9) stated this) only after his contests were posted in the Olio di Balena community that began on Jan. 16, 2025?**

**Coincidence, proof of guilt or transfer error?**


I did not enjoy writing this post and would have preferred to write a post on another topic.
I did this research because I am a moderator of the Olio di Balena community and felt compelled to respond to another community member's request for help.
@gladiadorr himself asked me to do extensive research to prove his innocence after he received a downvote from @discovery-it

Honestly I feel a bit teased by @gladiadorr but at the same time, **although I have many doubts, I cannot say 100% that gladiadorr is elkaos**.

## **I will wait to receive the response from @gladiadorr before deciding what to do and I ask my readers to do the same because everyone has the right to defend themselves and to counterattack when accused.**

About 14 hours after this post was published @gladiadorr tagged me in a comment on another post and responded to this post.
I added this part of the post to give gladiadorr room to defend himself and to complete this post.

# Le mie ricerche sul Contest di @gladiadorr nella comunità di Olio di Balena

Oggi avevo in programma di scrivere un post su uno degli Hive game a cui gioco ma poi ho ricevuto un messaggio su Discord da un rispettabile membro della comunità di Olio di Balena che mi ha chiesto di controllare il contest organizzato da @gladiadorr su Olio di Balena perchè secondo lui c'erano dei sospetti che @gladiadorr (creatore del contest) e @elkaos (partecipante al contest) fossero la stessa persona.

Premesso che su Hive è assolutamente possibile e lecito avere più account.
Quello che non è ben visto è:
- il circle vote = autovotarsi con più accounts
- ottenere vantaggi partecipando con più accounts nei contests

@gladiadorr è un utente molto attivo nella pubblicazione di contenuti su Olio di Balena e i suoi contenuti sono interessanti e riguardano vari argomenti.

A partire dal 16 gennaio 2025 gladiadorr ha iniziato a pubblicare dei contests nella comunità di Olio di Balena.

Il primo contest non ha ricevuto molta partecipazione: [Indovina di che città si tratta/Guess what city it is (Italian/ English)](https://peakd.com/hive-146620/@gladiadorr/indovina-di-che-citta-si-trattaguess-what-city-it-is-italian-english)

Il contest distribuisce fino a tre premi a chi risponde correttamente ad una domanda:
1.- Vincitore: 1 HIVE
2.- vincitore: 0.5 HIVE
3.- Vincitore: 0.1 HIVE

# Le mie iniziali ricerche e le risposte di @gladiadorr

Amo Hive e amo la comunità di Olio di Balena nella quale sono moderatore e mi sono sentito in dovere di fare delle ricerche.

La prima ricerca che ho fatto è stata di verificare le interazioni tra gli accounts @gladiadorr e @elkaos tramite il tool: https://eroche.shinyapps.io/HiveEngagement/

Mi è sembrato un pò strano che l'interazione tra i due accounts avvenisse in un range di tempo abbastanza ridotto e questa cosa si ripetesse nel tempo.

gladiadorr mi ha risposto che non conosce elkaos e che lo ha conosciuto solo tramite il suo contest

gladiadorr ha anche fatto delle sue ricerche su elkaos e lo ha bannato dal suo contest perchè ha scoperto che @elkaos è lo stesso account dietro a @apoloo1 e per questo motivo si è approfittato di lui ribadendo che lo conosce solo perchè ha partecipato al suo contest.

Per verificare se @gladiadorr e @elkaos sono la stessa persona ho guardato la struttura dei loro post e ho trovato alcune similitudini che però non dimostrano che sono la stessa persona.

Tra elkaos e gladiadorr non ho trovato transazioni in HIVE o in HBD e non ho trovato l'utilizzo di uno stesso memo che possa connetterli ad uno stesso conto.

Guardando le transazioni su Hive Engine ho notato che @elkaos è probabilmente (non è sicuro) la stessa persona che ha @apoloo1 (come ha ricercato anche gladiadorr) e @thranax perchè ci sono molte transazioni di Hive Engine token tra questi accounts.

Ma su questo punto non ci sono problemi perchè il multiaccounts su Hive è consentito.

C'è però un comportamento comune tra gladiadorr e elkaos e apoloo1

A tutti questi account piace fare transazioni che coinvolgono SWAP.HIVE e SWAP.BTC e SWAP.LTC

Non mi è piaciuto scrivere questo post e avrei preferito scrivere un post su un altro argomento.
Ho fatto queste ricerche perchè sono moderatore della comunità di Olio di Balena e mi sono sentito in dovere di rispondere alla richiesta di aiuto di un altro membro della comunità.
Lo stesso @gladiadorr mi ha chiesto di fare ricerche approfondite per dimostrare la sua innocenza dopo che ha ricevuto un downvote da @discovery-it

Sinceramente mi sento un pò preso in giro da @gladiadorr ma allo stesso tempo, **anche se ho molti dubbi, non posso affermare al 100% che gladiadorr sia elkaos**.

## **Aspetterò di ricevere la risposta da @gladiadorr prima di decidere cosa fare e chiedo ai miei lettori di fare lo stesso perchè tutti hanno il diritto di difendersi e di controbattare quando vengono accusati.**

A distanza di circa 14 ore dalla pubblicazione di questo post @gladiadorr mi ha taggato in un commento su un altro post e ha risposto a questo post ho aggiunto questa parte del post per dare spazio a gladiadorr per difendersi e per completare questo post.

Come sempre, grandissimo Liberty, che non solo trovi il tempo di fare accurate indagini per verificare una segnalazione, ma anche di scrivere un post che spieghi la situazione e dia a tutti, "sospettato" incluso, il modo di dire la loro.

Ti ringrazio anche della enorme attenzione e gentilezza che dimostri sempre, dato che nel dubbio hai scelto di proteggere chi ti aveva fatto la segnalazione, assumendoti te la responsabilità di un atto che, lo posso immaginare benissimo, non è piacevole per nessuno voler compiere e ti espone a critiche e, magari, anche ritorsioni.

L'ho già detto tante volte, lo dico anche oggi, lo ridirò di sicuro in futuro: su Hive sei un modello da seguire per tutti e se negli anni ho cercato di migliorare sempre più la mia presenza qui (magari non riuscendoci, ma almeno provandoci), al 99% lo devo proprio a te ed al tuo costante esempio.

Detto ciò, non voglio assolutamente nascondermi dietro di te e preciso che la segnalazione l'ho fatta io, perchè, @gladiadorr, ho notato delle connessioni sospette tra il tuo account e quello di @elkaos, un partecipante molto ricorrente al tuo contest.

@elkaos risulta anche connesso ai seguenti account: @thranax, @avengerss, @apoloo1, @osiriss, @jaquevital.

Sembra probabile che dietro tutti questi account vi sia la stessa persona, dato che tutti questi account si trasferiscono tra loro tokens, come verificabile tramite https://he.dtools.dev/

Non solo, tutti questi account formattano i propri post allo stesso modo, utilizzando schemi ricorrenti e con nomi dei file che sembrano presi tramite lo stesso dispositivo.

Ancora, molti di questi account risultano tra i vincitori dei tuoi contests, dato che oltre ad @elkaos ho visto anche @avengerss ed @apoloo1.

Ora, ciò non significa che tu @gladiadorr sia la stessa persona che gestisce tutti questi account, ma è quantomeno molto sospetto che molti di questi account interagiscano solo con te tramite reblog, commenti e/o upvotes.

Forse chi è dietro ad @elkaos ti ha preso di mira ed ha deciso che vuole sabotare il tuo contest?

Forse sì, non lo so, però anche i tuoi post presentano elementi di formattazione in linea con tutti questi altri autori.

E @libertycrypto27 ha inoltre trovato almeno una transazione in favore di @elkaos precedente a quando dici di aver conosciuto questo utente (e adesso mi chiedo se possano essercene anche altre con tutti gli altri account sopra menzionati).

Ci sono quindi vari elementi che portano a pensare che qui ci sia qualcosa di scorretto, anche se forse non sono abbastanza per arrivare ad una conclusione.

Io, perciò, se posso, ti inviterei - se ciò che dici è vero - a prendere le distanze da questi soggetti, cessando quei comportamenti che ti accomunano troppo a loro.

Inoltre:
- prima di organizzare un contest sarebbe buona norma farsi conoscere meglio all'interno di una community, in modo che le persone ti possano conoscere e sappiano chi sei;
- prendere tutte le rewards dei tuoi post e spenderle altrove non è una pratica molto apprezzata, per cui forse dovresti cominciare ad accrescere i tuoi HP, dimostrando il tuo impegno verso questa chain;
- se noti dei soggetti sospetti che partecipano ai tuoi contest, dovresti allontanarli, dato che altrimenti chiunque potrebbe pensare che sei d'accordo con loro.

Per quanto mi riguarda per ora manterrò il forte sospetto che ci siano dei collegamenti tra te e quegli account, ma credo anche che tu possa dimostrare il contrario con le azioni, più che con le parole. Magari sei la stessa persona che gestisce tutti quegli account, ma, sempre magari, puoi fare meglio di così ed iniziare a comportarti in una maniera più corretta e trasparente qui su Hive. Tutti possono sbagliare, l'importante è imparare dai propri errori e migliorare.

Ho letto la risposta di gladiadorr e devo dire che, almeno a me, puzza da morire che, guarda caso, siamo passati dal "non lo conosco minimamente, è solo un tizio a caso che partecipa ad uno dei miei contest" a "è il mio vicino di casa e mi ha fatto iscrivere lui"... che poi ho fatto ulteriori ricerche ed è saltato fuori che elkaos è un noto scammer che ha molti più degli account che ho identificato io: https://peakd.com/hive-195370/@hivewatchers/sp3pow

Ha decine di account ed è noto da anni ad hivewatchers: mi sembra quantomeno paradossale che un soggetto del genere si premuri di fare onboarding di nuovi utenti su Hive, insegnando pure loro come postare in una qualità decente a livello di formattazione e livello di tag usati.

Se già prima ero parecchio convinto del fatto che fosse sempre la stessa persona, ora devo dire che io non ho praticamente più dubbi.

Concordo in pieno anche se più passa il tempo e più gladiadorr mostra la sua colpevolezza non rispondendo mentre ieri con tanti messaggi mi voleva far sentire in colpa per averlo accusato (mai fatto) quando io gli avevo chiesto solo spiegazioni.

gladiadorr mi ha appena taggato in un altro post perchè qui è mutato e la sua argomentazione è stata che è stato preso di mira da elkaos e quindi secondo lui è una vittima ma non si è sforzato a spiegare il perchè e quindi una non risposta è quasi sempre una ammissione di colpa... :)

Ciao @harbiter e @noemilunastorta innanzitutto quando ci sono discussioni su modo di votare, percentuali di voto e altri aspetti relativi ad Hive potete taggarmi e in questo modo posso intervenire per smorzare la discussione e per dare consigli e opinioni ;)
Incuriosito sono andato a vedere i commenti tra noemilunastorta e gladiadorr a cui ti riferivi e anche a me non mi è piaciuto il modo con cui ha risposto a noemi.
**Chiariamo subito che ognuno può votare come vuole su Hive e con qualsiasi percentuale.**
Tra l'altro il 100% di voto di gladiadorr vale 0.0004 che è inferiore anche se di poco all'1% di noemi che vale 0.0006 quindi criticare chi supporta più di lui mostra poca logica...

Quindi il modo con cui gladiadorr ha risposto a noemi mostra che è una persona che sa solo guardare al suo orticello, lui non vuole supportare gli altri (liquida tutto) ma pretende il supporto e si arrabbia pure se riceve un voto all'1% lol

Detto questo votare all'1% è qualcosa che io non ho mai fatto perchè non ha vantaggi per chi lo fa e soprattuto stona un pò con un commento di apprezzamento di un post.
Il tuo post mi è piaciuto ma vale l'1% del mio stake... è un pò come se io vedo un'esibizione musicale su strada, batto forte le mani e dico bravo ma poi apro il portafoglio mostrando che ho 10 euro (similitudine con Hive di 10 voti al 100% = 20% del voting power giornaliero), ti posso dare 1 euro (similitudine con un voto al 100% su Hive) ma ti dò 1 centesimo... = voto inesistente e quasi mai apprezzato

Diciamo che votare tanti accounts ha senso e soprattuto è utile perchè si incentivano più autori quando lo stake è importante. Io ad esempio man mano che aumenterò il mio stake aumenterò anche gli autori che supporto che al momento sono circa 80 diversi su base settimanale mentre noemi ne supporta 300 ma quel supporto difficilmente sarà notato o apprezzato...

Noemi sentiti assolutamente libera di votare come credi e i miei sono solo consigli/opinioni personali ma considera anche che quando voti con un voto inferiore a 0.02 stai dando un supporto al post che voti ma il tuo essendo un dust vote non produce ricompense per te e quindi il 50% del tuo voto va all'autore del post che voti e l'altro 50% che spetterebbe a te viene bruciato.
Questo è un meccanismo di protezione per evitare che nuovi account con piccoli voti possano creare tanti accounts per autovotarsi a vicenda.

A person winning a contest 15 times out of 17 seems really concerning, but it's good you've done your research, I think for one, the constant winner will have to stop being the winner all the time. It's going to be sad if truly someone is creating multiple accounts to game the system.

Here the even bigger problem is that the creator of the contest and the most frequent winner seem to be the same person, and so in this case it would be a contest created to farm with no or very little risk.

Ammetto di aver partecipato solo un paio di volte a quel contest che citi, e di aver smesso quasi subito, sia perché i post, in realtà, mi sembravano un po' delle scopiazzature di alcune cose che si trovano facilmente on-line, sia perché anche a me sembrava che i vincitori fossero sempre i soliti.

Con questo non intendo certo accusare nessuno, anche perché non ho nessuna prova in merito che vada oltre a quelle che hai fornito tu, che, seppure non rappresentano certezze assolute, quanto meno instillano dei seri dubbi sulla serietà della cosa. 

Purtroppo per quanto Hive sia un mondo a parte, decisamente migliore di quello che c'è in giro, anche qui non mancano i furbetti che tentano di realizzare facili guadagni, con trucchetti da quattro soldi, alle spalle di chi ci mette serietà ed impegno.

Qualche giorno fa, ad esempio, ti avevo taggato in un commento dove mi ero ritrovato di fronte ad un utente che aveva copiato, pari pari, un mio precedente post, spacciandolo per suo, anche se non so se poi avevi notato o meno il tag. 

Per quanto mi riguarda, in quel caso, avevo ovviamente downvotato il post, e, per l'appunto, segnalato la cosa, perché lo trovato veramente spiacevole. 

In questo caso, al contrario, non posso permettermi di dire nulla visto che certamente, se c'è stato un qualche inganno, come viene da pensare, è stato quantomeno celato in maniera migliore agli occhi degli utenti, ma sono comunque contento della tua indagine, poiché dimostra la tua serietà come moderatore, e la volontà di mantenere Olio di Balena un luogo pulito, frequentato solo da persone serie .

Da parte mia, visto che in realtà avevo già smesso di partecipare al contest di cui sopra, continuerò su questa strada, visto che, comunque, al di là dei sospetti nati, mi sembrava che fosse fatto di ben poca "farina del proprio sacco", ma piuttosto un'accozzaglia di copia e incolla di cose che si trovano facilmente on-line, ma questo ovviamente è solo la mia mera opinione personale

Si ho visto il tag e ho anche downvotato il post di quell'autore che ti ha copiato il post. Non è il primo caso e ne ho downvotati diversi altri che probabilmente appartengono alla stessa persona anche su Odb.

Well, great work, @libertycrypto27. It's definitely your job as a moderater. Didn't  want to hurt someone but I also did some research on both posts, and I found the markdown difference in both. However, as you mentioned the screenshot was taken from the same device, so it may be suspicious that one person is using the same device with the same browsers or tools. I was mentioned in the tags but never participate or engage with the contest.

Caspita che lavoro! Non sarai arrivato ad una conclusione definitiva, ma questo se lo mandi come curriculum al FBI ( Federal Bureau of Investigation) ti prendono subito. Anch’io a volte ho partecipato al contest di gladiaddor, peró saltanto diversi appuntamenti e non ho notato stranezze tranne che qualche account che rispondeva aveva il contenuto nascosto o bannato.

Grazie del commento stefano.massari, anche io prima della ricerca non avevo notato stranezze anche perchè non supporto e non partecipo ai contest di chi liquida le ricompense e di chi estrae tutto da Hive e quindi non partecipando ai suoi contest non avrei mai notato nulla e devo ringraziare arc7icwolf per avermi fatto notare degli aspetti sospetti...
vediamo cosa risponderà gladiadorr e se lo farà, il beneficio del dubbio va sempre dato anche se i sospetti sono molti ;)

Voglio portare un piccolo contributo da un punto di vista diverso. 
Anche io, in passato, sono stato "ripreso" da @libertycrypto27. Lo metto tra virgolette perché abbiamo avuto uno scambio privato molto pacato, educato e conciliante. Gli sono grato per essersi preso il tempo e la briga di condividere i suoi pensieri con me e farmi riflettere su cosa sbagliavo. Mi ha aiutato a vedere qualcosa che non vedevo.

Questo per dire che @libertycrypto27 sono certo sia passato prima di tutto per vie private e solo dopo, non ricevendo risposta, sarà passato a scrivere questo post, che non è una gogna pubblica, ma un invito per @gladiadorr a spiegare.

Hive è la casa o condominio di tutti, così come lo è Olio di Balena. Se un condomino non si comporta bene è giusto che l'amministratore (moderatore) lo avverta e avverta i condomini.

@gladiadorr ti invito a rispondere con serenità a tutti. Se hai sbagliato non è un dramma, lo comprendiamo, può capitare a tutti. Se le azioni successive mostreranno il tuo cambio di rotta, vedrai che tutto si sistemerà.

@libertycrypto27 grazie per mantenere questo posto un luogo sicuro ed equo e per aiutarci quando ci perdiamo. Anzi, se vuoi fare un controllino anche su di me, e trovi qualcosa che non va, mi fa piacere se me lo fai notare. Voglio essere perfetto!

Sono una persona imperfetta e per questo mi piace consigliare anche sbagliando perchè amo ricevere consigli e anche critiche costruttive e per questo mi piace sempre il confronto e/o lasciare uno spiraglio per una seconda chance e quindi hai colto in pieno il mio modo di pensare e operare :)
Come prima cosa ho chiesto spiegazioni a gladiadoor prima di fare le ricerche che ho condiviso in questo post. Lui mi ha scritto più volte che non conosceva elkaos e mi ha anche accusato di accusare quando io gli avevo chiesto solo spiegazioni e ha anche provato a farmi sentire in colpa quando ha ricevuto il downvote di discovery con il quale mi sono confrontato durante le ricerche e prima di pubblicare questo post in modo da avere anche un riscontro. 
Infine è stato lo stesso gladiador a chiedermi di fare ricerche approfondite

Da questo momento, tempo permettendo, farò ricerche su tutti i futuri contest su Odb in modo che una situazione come questa sia stroncata sul nascere e io non dovrò pubblicare altri post come questo che sinceramente non mi danno la soddisfazione che mi da scrivere un tutorial o un post sui giochi che gioco
