_Hello, God. Please answer. It’s been five years. I’ve been praying the same thing every day. Please answer my prayer, God._ Have you felt the same? Are you waiting for God’s grace/promise/gift in your life?

# Waiting & Losing Faith

Do you realize that the more important the thing you are waiting for, the longer the waiting can feel. For example, if you are waiting while your loved one is being operated on in the hospital, the waiting could be unbearable.

Most of the time, people lose faith not because of the magnitude of a problem, but the length of the problem. A big but quickly solved problem would rarely make people lose faith. A moderate problem with no glimpse of solution for a long time might weaken or even break people's faith. We are tired of praying the same prayers over and over again for years. We are tired of listening to the same encouragement from priests or loved ones while nothing changes, and you see no visible solution.


# Is God playing with us?

In the Bible, there are many cases where God let his beloved people, such as Abraham or David, wait for a long time. They had to wait for years until God's promise was fulfilled in their lives. 

### Is God playing with us? If God is almighty, can't God make it faster?

For a unique purpose, there will be a unique calling, and therefore there will be a unique waiting period. Because we as humans will need the preparation to receive such a huge promise.

God's calling for Abraham was not to be a normal father, but to be a father of all nations. David's calling was to be a king of God’s chosen people at that time. God prepared them along the way, so when the gigantic blessings came, they were ready.

Just like a normal birthday present, if we have built enough suspense around it, the gift would feel much more satisfying. This is also the same as God’s grace/promise. It’s a gift to us. God doesn’t owe us anything, He gives gifts. :D


# What can we do?

If you are going for a long trip with friends, I bet the journey won’t be boring. Because you are enjoying your time with your friends. The journey won’t feel that long. In fact, it would feel quite short. 

It should be the same with God. Just enjoy God's presence! Enjoy the journey with God and prepare yourself along the way while waiting for God’s grace or promise. Before you know it, the gift from God has already arrived.
