I would love not to mow and pick the pretty flowers for some sweet bonnie lass. But they fine you big bucks if your grass is not cut... and I have yet to find a true bonnie lass deserving of a fresh bouquet.

## Help for nature 
Today I show you a typical piece of a German meadow or lawn. 
The piece is on a slight slope and holds some treats for bees and co.
Flowering clover and daisies can be seen here.
Normally we don't mow in May and when we mow in early June, we leave the larger groups of flowers until they have faded. 
When I did some research on the subject, I even found out that this procedure is already a proper movement. 

## No Mowing- A Campaign In England 
" 
No Mow May" is in full swing with gardeners, councils and landowners leaving their lawns, beds and turf bare to encourage nature. It's not too late to get involved - any break from routine mowing will allow bees, butterflies and other wildlife to flourish this spring. All you have to do is resist the urge to mow your lawn this month.
Campaign research has shown that less frequent mowing can provide ten times more nectar sugars than bees, butterflies, moths, beetles and other pollinators. Last year's results showed that participating gardeners reported up to 250 plant species, including the grass-flowering bearberry, wild strawberries, dwindling orchids and the rare meadow-flowering snakehead butterfly.
Lawns are often a wilderness of insects and flowers whose diversity is kept under control by regular mowing and weeding. But if left alone, these common weeds can provide vital food. Dandelions are a special superfood for bees and butterflies. Although daisies outnumber butterflies 85:1 in a typical 100 m2 lawn, they provide 9% of the pollen and 37% of the nectar on the lawn. "

Es bedarf wohl keiner gesonderten Erwähnung, dass ich über all jene, die im 14-Tage Rhythmus über ihren gepflegten Rasen hecheln und nach störendem Unkraut fahnden, nur müde lächeln kann. Schafe und Kühe würden mir raten, meine fünf Sinne zu ordnen, wenn ich sie mit einem solchen Futter abfertigen wollte.
Es gibt nur zwei Gründe, zu der gedengelten Sense zu greifen: Futter und Heu! Beides taugt nicht bei einem "Kurzhaarschnitt". :-)
