# [In the first part](https://steemit.com/informationwar/@lighteye/regaining-sovereignty-part-i) we saw how an aspiring Empire, EU, is trying to strip member countries of their sovereignty. But what about its own sovereignty?

In truth, EU itself does not have any sovereignty at all. EU may be an economic giant, but under full financial control of US. You could clearly see that in the case of US sanctions to the EU companies that still do business with Iran. [SWIFT is just one of the financial control points over EU](https://steemit.com/informationwar/@lighteye/swift-101). The whole banking system in EU is tied to the US dollar, and that allows US full control over its EU colony. But that is not all.

EU is under full military control of NATO. And US is taking [dangerous decisions that concernes EU directly](https://steemit.com/informationwar/@lighteye/the-war-defining-the-battlefield).

Political control was established through covert mechanisms like “colored revolutions” (Romania, Ukraine, Georgia…),  a wire(less)tapping of EU politicians approved by the [President Barrack Yes-We-Scan Obama,](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/europe/germany/10407282/Barack-Obama-approved-tapping-Angela-Merkels-phone-3-years-ago.html) enforcing secret documents like [‘Chancellor Act’,](http://www.europarl.europa.eu/doceo/document//E-8-2017-003956_EN.html) and other means of [soft occupation.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K8o1kjw5U3s)

Then comes forming “clusters”, through NATO and UK allies, for a large psy-ops to influence public opinion in the countries all over the World — revealed by Anonymous…

Control through technology is done largest US corporations with enormous influence in the virtual domain. [Microsoft,](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duaYLW7LQvg) Apple, Google, [Facebook,](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T48KFiHwexM) Twitter, Wikipedia… have not only practically monopolized Internet sphere, but they became a tools of control over other countries, allied or not.

And precisely that is a reason why EU is trying to build alternatives. They have announced alternative for SWIFT, so they could fulfill their obligations from the [JCPOA](https://www.armscontrol.org/factsheets/JCPOA-at-a-glance) with Iran.

Given the ever tightening situation with NATO, [European Foreign and Defense ministers have agreed on 17 new projects for developing an EU army.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BN-1LkdFYJM) Macron and Merkel both mention EU Army, and that triggered [furious Trump tweets.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JMX0cJw8ycA)

At the same time, France is trying to reduce dependance on non-European entities by making alternatives to the US megacorporations like Google…
