Hola amigos de Holos&Lotus, deseándoles a todos una linda semana, hoy escribo aquí atendiendo la iniciativa de @emiliorios, acabo de verla y no pude contenerme, porque las plantas medicinales han estado presentes a lo largo de mi vida, siempre recomendadas por mis abuelas, tías, mi madre, hermanos, primos y amigos.
Es algo que los cubanos tenemos muy incorporado desde nuestras raíces familiares, casi siempre recurrimos primero a una planta que a un medicamento. En mi casa hay varias plantas medicinales en mi pequeño jardín, tenemos sábila (la reina del jardín), manzanilla, tilo, un pequeño limonero que aunque el limón tiene múltiples usos, en temporada de invierno o si alguien en casa está resfriado tomamos pequeñas ramitas para hacer infusiones.

It is something that we Cubans have very much incorporated from our family roots, we almost always resort first to a plant rather than a medicine. In my house there are several medicinal plants in my small garden, we have aloe vera (the queen of the garden), chamomile, linden, a small lemon tree that although lemon has multiple uses, in winter season or if someone at home has a cold we take small twigs to make infusions.

Así que como ven nos encantan las plantas medicinales. Pero les voy a hablar de dos en concreto. Primero la Sábila, yo la he usado para el cabello, es muy buena para mejorar el cabello dañado, pero cuando era joven me gustaba usarla como gomina, siempre he usado el pelo rizado pero a veces  me costaba un poco de trabajo controlarlo y una amiga me lo sugirió y fue para mi divino, además me dejaba el pelo muy bonito cuando se secaba se endurecía como el gel, impidiendo que me  despeinara, así que para mí era perfecto, solo que tenía mis contratiempos con mi novio,  porque el cabello se mantenía  muy bonito pero como siempre tenia el cabello largo  donde quiera que rozaba la piel ponía la zona muy amarga, así que a veces tenía que evitar este gel jajaja.

So as you can see we love medicinal plants. But I am going to talk about two in particular. First the Aloe Vera, I have used it for hair, it is very good to improve damaged hair, but when I was young I liked to use it as a hair gel, I have always used curly hair but sometimes it was a little hard to control it and a friend suggested it to me and it was divine for me, it also left my hair very nice when it dried it hardened like gel, preventing me from messing up my hair, so for me it was perfect, only that I had my setbacks with my boyfriend, because my hair stayed very nice but as I always had long hair wherever I rubbed the hairpiece it made the area very bitter, so sometimes I had to avoid this gel hahaha.

Esta planta también es utilizada en mi casa de manera bastante regular, siempre hay en el refrigerador un cuadradito, mi madre sufre de gastritis y desde que toma un cuadradito en las mañanas antes de desayunar ha dejado de tener esa dolencia, al igual que mi esposo que casi siempre tiene algún malestar estomacal, la sábila produce un efecto curativo mágico.

This plant is also used in my house quite regularly, there is always a small square in the refrigerator, my mother suffers from gastritis and since she takes a small square in the morning before breakfast she has stopped having that ailment, as well as my husband who almost always has some stomach discomfort, aloe vera produces a magical healing effect.

La otra planta de la que quiero hablar no la tengo en mi casa, es más bien una planta que en mi país crece silvestre, estoy hablando del Romerillo. Esta planta me acompañó desde mi niñez hasta mi juventud. Yo no era realmente enfermiza pero cuando me enfermaba de la garganta tardaba mucho en curarme hasta que mi abuela le recomendó a mi madre que me diera Romerillo, exprimiéndolo y mezclándolo con miel y con tres cucharadas casi me curaba totalmente, esta planta producía un efecto magnifico en mí, me curaba bien y rápido.
Desde los 15 a los 18 años estuve becada y pasaba la semana fuera de casa, cuando sentía que se me ponía mal la garganta cogía unos trocitos de Romerillo, que lo encontraba por doquier, lavaba bien los tallos y los masticaba hasta extraer todo el jugo, al momento dejaba de dolerme la garganta.

The other plant I want to talk about I do not have in my house, it is rather a plant that grows wild in my country, I am talking about the Romerillo. This plant accompanied me from my childhood to my youth. I was not really sickly but when I got sick with my throat it took me a long time to heal until my grandmother recommended my mother to give me Romerillo, squeezing it and mixing it with honey and with three tablespoons I was almost completely cured, this plant produced a magnificent effect on me, it cured me well and fast.
From 15 to 18 years old I was on scholarship and spent the week away from home, when I felt that my throat was getting bad I took some pieces of Romerillo, I found it everywhere, I washed the stems well and chewed them until I extracted all the juice, at the moment my throat stopped hurting.
