Nunca he sido amante a ver telenovelas, pero, cuando era niña, mi madre y mis abuelas, como la mayoría de las mujeres cubanas, fantaseaban con los galanes de la televisión brasileña y repetían de boca en boca los conflictos que las apasionaban en aquellos dramáticos episodios. Y, bueno, a una se le pegaba aquello de andar tan cerca 🤷🏻‍♀️. Así fue que conocí a Elisa Lucinda, que, para serles franca, ni siquiera estaba segura de cuál era su nombre hasta la fecha.

And, well, one of them was bothered by being so close 🤷🏻‍♀️. That's how I met Elisa Lucinda, who, to be honest, wasn't even sure what her name was until now.

En la Feria Internacional del Libro de La Habana este año, tuve el placer de conocerla personalmente, pues, fue una de las artistas invitadas, para mi sorpresa no vino como actriz sino como poeta. Jamás lo hubiese imaginado, la verdad. La escuché leer, y aunque, para serles sincera, no me atrajo su lírica, sí quedé complacida con la originalidad de su performance al leer. Sin dudas una mujer con gracia, con "sandunga", como le decimos aquí a quienes tienen la magia de hacernos volar con sus modos de hacer.

I never would have imagined it, honestly. I listened to her read, and although, to be honest, I was not attracted to her lyrics, I was pleased with the originality of her performance when reading. Without a doubt, a woman with grace, with "sandunga", as we say here to those who have the magic of making us fly with their ways of doing things.

Una vez más, el escenario para este fortuito encuentro fue la casa de la Pesía de La Habana. Andaba con mi hermana en esa ocasión y juntas nos acercamos a Elisa para tomarnos algunas fotos. Para nuestra sorpresa, quienes terminamos fotografiadas también y entrevistadas fuimos nosotras, pues, la artista deseaba llevarse a su país y compartir en sus redes sociales algunas impresiones de sus expectadores cubanos. En mi caso, también estuvo interesada en mis obras publicadas y las presentaciones que había tenido por esos días en le marco de la Feria.

To our surprise, we were the ones who ended up also photographed and interviewed, since the artist wanted to take her to her country and share some impressions of her Cuban viewers on her social networks. In my case, she was also interested in my published works and the presentations I had had during those days within the framework of the Fair.

Fue una linda experiencia. Parece ser una mujer auténtica. Me transmitió carisma y simpatía. De hecho, hace unos días vi un filme de ella que me hizo recordar este encuentro y me animé a compartírselo.
